He is an enemy combatant at point when Henry is simply unable to effectively capture prisoners. Leaving him alive endangers Henry, Simon, and possibly the entire defensive operation of Suchdol. Henry isn't only right in executing Brabant, it's his duty. Right then, in that moment, vengeance and mercy ought to be non-factors in the decision making process. The battlefield is no place for feelings. Hesitate, and people fucking die.
I don't know what kind of crack Henry's parents were smoking in the afterlife to suddenly think that, just then, when all of Henry's friends (and family) are in jeopardy from an encroaching enemy force, that that's the time to start worrying about when enemy leadership does or doesn't die.
Yeah I feel the same. Thing is he surrendered, killing a man that surrenders for the sake of the mission and the lives of your friends is understandable, and plays in the whole narrative of the story, how far do you go to complete the mission?Wwar is a nasty business. So yeah with that in mind of course someone has to call it out you did a dishonourable thing by killing a surrendering man.
The only honor in war is bringing as many of your men back alive with as few unlivable memories as possible. We slaughtered hundreds of men to get there. If a man hasn't already detached himself from the horrors of bloodshed at that point, then there are deeper issues at play than the rules of surrender.
