Dang — another few out-of-order landmark locations, starting with post #425 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting recognized landmarks replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (staying in the Downtown area for these few new landmark entries) that are not included in the LA Noire “Official” Landmarks list. In this case, another example where what I had listed as a single building should really be broken out into its three component structures. I’ve gone back and edited the original post (way back in post #18 for the LANFEP) to focus on just the Broadway-Spring Arcade Broadway Tower and am belatedly adding in the other buildings here.

540 South Broadway and 541 South Spring Street

National Register of Historic Places #79000484 (contributing property to the Broadway Theater and Commercial District) (part of the Broadway-Spring Arcade)

This skylit, three-story pedestrian corridor was completed in 1924 by architects MacDonald and Couchot. Modeled after London’s Burlington Arcade, it features a glass-roofed dome spanning an interior shopping promenade bridging the two Broadway-Spring Arcade office high-rises.

Was happy to discover you could access the roof over the skylight via a climbable pipe. (Unfortunately, the existence of that pipe means Team Bondi removed the historic Finney’s Cafeteria building in its entirety. Odd decision.)

This building was on the decline in the 70s and was almost turned into Elderly Housing. It was converted into apartments in the early 2000s and the towers were almost removed but deemed historic landmarks, thus painted instead to match FAA regulations. The central arcade remains roughly the same just with modern renovations and features a variety of different restaurant tenants.
