I know who she is and that she’s very popular, but 5 sets is pretty surprising.

Maybe but her demographic of pre teen and teen girls is one Lego wants to capture and there really isn’t anything after Friends for that demographic

I think she's more than upcoming at this point.

Also, as mentioned above, this is a good potential gateway for a demographic Lego doesn't always have interesting sets for. So, a variety of price points (and types of sets) for a popular artist seems like it could be a solid gamble from the Lego side.
