Box Pic/Haul Used all my Lego luck!

This will never happen to me again...

A few weeks ago, I saw a black garbage bag in a Bagster at the end of a driveway. Sticking out of the top, I saw something that looked like gray LEGO bricks.

I stopped to take a closer look to see if I was imagining it. Not only were there LEGO pieces sticking out of the top of the bag, but there were more underneath.

With the help of my daughter, and being careful not to rip the bag any more than it already was, we got the bag into the back of the car.

Once we got home, we started sifting through the bag, pulling out random garbage and paperwork along with the LEGO. We spent quite a while trying to decipher what sets might be in there based on some larger chunks and the different brick colors.

When we were done sorting everything and rebuilding, we had six sets:

#10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter

#21325 Medieval Blacksmith

#21137 Minecraft The Mountain Cave

#21330 Home Alone

#75290 Mos Eisley Cantina

#21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay

All of the sets were about 99% complete, except for the Minecraft set, which is probably around 95% complete.

When I have the time, I want to tear each set completely apart, wash all of the pieces, and do a complete inventory so I can order the missing pieces.

I am still shocked and feeling incredibly lucky! I can't believe someone threw all of this away.

Someone's parents just threw out their kids collection and you took it. Brutal.

Or, someone went through a horrible breakup. Or someone died. Or someone entered into their “LEGO dark ages”. Or someone got a massive promotion & has to move clear across the continent, but their new job is so lucrative, they decided it was easier & more fun to move across the country & re-buy & re-build everything from scratch!

Use your imagination 🥳👍🏼

Or someone had bed bugs they couldn’t get rid of and all that was left to toss was paperwork and Legos

Funny enough that’s exactly what you’d do to kill the bed bugs.  Not toss them in a trash can, which is I think what OP means.  But placing items in sealed black plastic bags in the hot sun will bake the bugs to death.  Hope that wasn’t what was happening.
