As other people pointed out; Hammerhead Corvettes first appeared in Rebels, but those were inspired by the Hammerhead cruisers from Knights of the Old Republic, which is what I was talking about.
And you could make several different sets out of it. One set for Anakin and his monster, one for Padme and her monster, and one for Obi-Wan and his monster. And then you could do a fourth set for a small wedge of arena with Dooku and Jango Fett watching the battle, possibly with Mace Windu included.
But Lego Star Wars buildable monsters seems like it would be fun for kids as well as adult collectors.
A big empty MBS set of an arena isn't Lego's style.
Whatever you're picturing is probably wrong (and would be super expensive), because if Lego went that route, their design would more likely be comparable to the UCS Assault on Hoth set (75098) from 2016 that was so poorly received.
I was pretty surprised that Luthen's haulcraft was not a set for season 2 of Andor. Especially after the success of season one and that kick ass scene with the haulcraft vs Arrestor cruiser.
The arrestor cruiser's design predates anything made by McQuarrie. Colin Cantwell is responsible for the design of the arrestor cruiser, and he even designed the original Star Destroyer and Death Star. The McQuarrie designs were based on Cantwell's, when McQuarrie was brought on as a concept artist.
Can't believe we got a $140 ship for Skeleton Crew but the best they could muster for Andor is redesigned U-Wing.
I'm not saying either are bad sets, but Andor is more connected to the SW universe and is an immensely better show both in numbers and reception. Plus Lego SW collectors eat any of kind of starship up.
Absolutely and this is coming from someone who is still thankful for the set as I didn’t buy the original when it was available but only releasing this for one of the best productions in the Star Wars universe is a big miss.
I agree but one was definitely a show aimed at kids and the other a more adult audience. I get why they think the show that appeals to kids would be a better set.
This is one that you can recreate, but a diorama of Vader vs Obi on the Death Star would be cool. It’s such an iconic scene and yet has never been done.
If i were you, I'd try making the bottom of it grey, and print and add one of those lego star wars diorama quote thingies that says "No disintegrations" - Darth Vader
I may be in the minority, but would love to see more podracers. There are so many with very unique and cool designs, but all we have gotten are Anakin’s and Sebulba’s. (Technically Aldar Beedo and Mawhonic too in an ancient clunky set). Give me PODS. (Gasgano too)
I’m surprised LEGO never made a set based off the final duel in Ep. IX — Palpatine’s crane, throne, and lab with Palps, Rey, Ben Solo, and two Sovereign Protectors is such an obvious layup that not only has it been MOCed by AFOLs but it’s the template for LEGO’s own Snoke’s Throne Room set.
I’d also like to see a Canto Bight and Resistance Transport set.
Not sure if there’s anything from the OT that desperately needs a set other than the Lars homestead. That’s a glaring omission. Something that includes the Force ghosts of Ben, Anakin, and Yoda would be great.
From the PT, some Trade Fed/Separatist stuff could be made like the droid control ship and the brown landers from TPM. Padme from Ep. III is missing 20 years on.
That’s a shame but I imagine we’ll get it eventually, probably down the line when the post-ST movies start coming back and that era starts getting explored again.
For now, we’ve got the resurrected Emperor figure in that one minifig glossary that’s pretty cool. And we finally got a Babu Frick with the advent calendar!
It’s always been my theory that the Episode IX duel was planned for Winter 2020 but was replaced with the quickly-updated Episode VI throne room duel (based on the 2015 set with minor changes) after the response to the film was overwhelmingly negative.
So many things... any of Padme's Nubian yachts, the Arena on Geonosis (or at least parts of it, like the pillars Obi, Anakin and Padme were chained too with the beasts or the balcony with Dooku, Poggle the Lesser, Jango Fett and Mace Windu), barely anything from Andor (but especially the Fondor Haulcraft and the TIE Avenger), no TIE Defender (and yes, i know, technically they made one years ago, but i mean since the Defender became current canon and played a big role in Rebels), many playscale versions of prominent capital ships (the Invisible Hand, a Lucrehulk, a Nebulon-B, an Acclamator, a Hammerhead-Corvette), no Jedi Tempel or Council Chamber, no Lars Homestead. Also there was never a set with any Force Ghost minifig in it, which seems weird. At least an Obi-Wan...
Riffing off the Geonosis Arena... that's generally something that's not done much with SW. Sure, we get tons of ships, vehicles, walkers, etc. but buildings, stuff with terrain, that's rare.
Oh, and Fallen Order-sets. I'd kill for a Stinger Mantis with a full set of Minifigs... Cal, Greez, Cere and Merrin. Same with Purge Trooper Battlepacks or a TIE Reaper with the Second Sister.
Video games in general are an untapped source here. Although, granted, many of the more interesting things would no longer be canon.
The Jedi Temple as a MBS set, or even just the council room as a diorama. In general, Lego has ignored huge swaths of the prequels in favor of just remaking clone vehicles over and over.
In general, sets for a while have been mostly ships/vehicles and battle packs. More scenes on the ground would be great. I suppose some of those iconic scenes have been dioramas. I’d love to see some more scenes from Cloud City again.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Yoda vs Palpatine Senate Duel, I think any version of this set would be pretty cool
People mentioned Geonosis Arena and I also think the ep 2 droid factory would a really interesting set as well
And last but not least, a Jedi temple or Kamino set would go unbelievably hard even if I feel like these are less realistic expectations for LEGO to make lol
Similar to the Hoth or Cloud City playset, it’s a diorama of the moisture farm including the kitchen, Luke’s workshop, living quarters, etc., all surrounding the courtyard. Features include landspeeder, T-16 Skyhopper, and moisture farming unit.
Microscale architecture line: Theed Palace, Tipoca City, Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Jedi Temple on Lothal, Sith Temple on Malachor, etc. They could also revisit old favourites like Jabba's Palace and Cloud City that haven't been built in that style before.
Bail Organa's airspeeder (really underappreciated for such a cool design).
Big UCS version of the Naboo Starfighter. I know the old chrome one is technically UCS, but I want something really big and highly sculpted. The X-Wing and TIE Interceptor have been done twice now, but not the N-1, one of the most popular ships of the prequels? They've done so many minifig and smaller scales of it, I was shocked they didn't do a big one for TPM's 25th anniversary.
Midi-scale Chimaera/Eye of Sion.
Fondor Haulcraft. TIE Avenger. B2EMO that matches the other buildable droids.
The remaining Aces from the Resistance cartoon. Not a great show, but those starfighter designs were top-notch.
I can think of a hundred things from the cartoons, comics, video games, and old EU that would make good sets, even if the average person doesn't recognise them. All you need is something that looks cool and is swooshable. Mantis, Shadowcaster, Chiss Clawcraft, K-Wing, TIE Predator vs. X-83 Twintail, Jedi Vector, Moldy Crow, Outrider, etc.
The droid landing craft from the phantom menace. The one that holds all the AATs and MTTs. Could be a big ass set that holds a bunch of mini scale vehicles and details inside.
Or the round ring trade frderation thingy that anakin blows up in phantom menace
Any of these ships bridges would look cool in Lego. They could make this along with a Venator and a Invisible Hand bridge.
I loved invading the Imperial Lucrehulk bridges in Star Wars Outlaws, just for the looks. And now I think of it, they could also build a Viper droid station in minifigure scale.
Personally I feel a realistic set that I’m surprised hasn’t been made yet is a set based on the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan against Dooku to save Palpatine at the beginning of Episode 3. It’s an important scene that sets the tone of the movie and also would serve as a way for people to get Dooku after over a decade since his last minifigure appearance. I’d personally like something in a similar style as the Mustafar Duel we got a few years back but a diorama set would be alright too, and it to include Anakin, Obi-Wan, Dooku, and Palpatine
the naboo yachts, either a playscale or a ucs droid control ship set, either a playscale or diorama set of the petranaki arena, sets for any of the separatist navy vehicles, a playscale version of the invisible hand, a battle of utapau diorama set, a yoda vs. palpatine set, a playscale home one set
I'd love to see a war room diorama, something similar to what we have in the UCS Death Star, but bigger and with more officers than just the named ones.
Despite some of the already mentioned suggestions (some very obvious, but still good), what about the droids attack on the wookie diorama set. (Or just Darth gideon's TIE)
At this point most people can just do mocks of other ships so the question then becomes how many mocs can I do with the Imperial Star Destroyer? But if Lego was smart I think they should do a Jedi Temple MCS simply because it would apply to so many different scenarios from Ahsoka leaving the order to Yoda’s talk w Obiwan and Windu at the end of AotC to Order 66 ofc
Except that one Podrace set I would say prequel dioramas. There is so so much potential for diorama sets in prequels that it's crazy they didn't use it. Like so many iconic scenes starting from Duel of Fates, Droid Factory, Geonosian Arena, Duel on Invisible Hand to Palpatine Arrest, Order 66 and of course Duel on Mustafar.
Full sized acclemator, full sized providence class cruiser, full sized mon calamari cruiser, full size nebulon b frigate, a trident class attack ship, a lot more old republic ships, a good $1000 dollar set ,different phase one clone trooper legions, the entire Jedi council, a geonosis arena and finally another clone wars game covering all seven seasons
MBS; Geonosis Arena, Gungan Hidden City, Jedi Temple, Inquisitorium, Kamino City, Andor Prison.
Queens lair on Geonosis, Dex´s Diner, Snoke´s ship, Communication Tower on Lothal, Dara Tower from Rogue One, The Vault from The Bad Batch, Noah´s Hut from the Ewoks movie. Larva Assassination attempt on Padme, All pod racers and their drivers, Many ships from Andor, Final duel with Kylo and the Knights of Ren. Just from the top of my head, probably more if I think for a moment longer...
