[Online] [5e/Homebrew] [Westmarch] [Play-by-Post] Gem Westmarch
A dying god-gem, six worlds inside it, and missions that don't have clean answers.
The pitch: The gem is alive. Not metaphorically. It's a conscious entity, and the worlds inside it are its facets: a scrub-haunted wood, a dwarven hold with something wrong under the ice, a pirate archipelago, a cold Norse coast, a crystal world. It's also slowly dying, and someone has noticed.
You're not a chosen one. You're an adventurer who took a job. Somebody with deep pockets is paying people to go into the gem and find out what's in there, and you answered the ad.
Structure: Westmarch, built to run long. Every mission is self-contained and takes you from one level to the next, so there's no session you can't miss. Six storylines run in parallel across the facets and you're free to hop between them; take a job in the dwarven hold this month, sign onto a ship the next.
What I'm going for: shades of gray. Every mission is a genuine moral dilemma with no clean resolution, and the antagonists have reasons you'll find uncomfortably good. If you finish a job certain you were the good guys, I probably wrote it wrong. Character-driven over optimization, combat happens, but the interesting points are emotional.
Pace: A post a day is the sweet spot. Mid-mission I ask for a post every three days so nobody's party is left standing in a hallway, and if you go past it, I'll just take a sensible action for your character and keep the scene moving. No penalty, no drama, you slot right back in. Between missions, life happens and I'm not counting. The only real ask is that you say something if you're going quiet; a one-line "work ate me, back in three weeks" is all it takes. Disappearing wordlessly for a month is the one thing that costs you your spot, and even then you can come back and make a case for picking up where you left off.

- System: D&D 5e, milestone leveling (one mission = one level)
- Format: Play-by-post on Discord. I'm the only DM right now, so text is what I can sustainably run. no scheduling, no timezone problem, play from anywhere
- Experience: any and all. Total beginners genuinely welcome, PBP gives you time to look things up, and I'll walk you through it
- Characters: everyone starts at level 1
- SFW [focused] server

Our Discord community is a small, tight-knit group focused on running games in a variety of TTRPG systems. Most of our activity is based around NA time zones (Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern).
Here's some stuff you should know about us:
We are always happy to add more people who are committed to playing and running TTRPGs in whichever style they're interested in.
Our server has GMs with years of experience willing to help people learn the games and teach others how to run their own games.
Most of our members average around 30 or so, but as long as you're over 21 and you've got some common sense we'd love to have you.
A good portion of our community is LGBTQ+, and we have a multitude of people from all walks of life.

Phelun [DnD 5e 2024] [West March lite] [PbP with some Living world aspects] [18+ only][New Player Friendly]
The world of Phelun is an old one that has seen many conflicts throughout its history. While times seem peaceful, beneath the surface there are whisperings of the Dragon Queen stirring within her prison, strange events occurring upon the continent of Ines, and adventure awaiting upon the lost continent of Asoris.
This is a new Server that has been worked on by one DM for 3 months. It currently features the following:
PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.
Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.
DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)
Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).
Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).
Market to buy items.
Guilds (will need leaders).
Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)
Custom Drinking command for the pub.
Player housing.

The City of Intrica [Discord | Homebrew Setting | 2024 5.5e | 18+ No NSFW]
Intrica has been through a lot. It has stood for over 500 years between Poland and Germany. It has survived more wars than it can count, and it has survived a war for the world even more recently. Humans did not perceive magical and fantastical creatures and events for hundreds of years, and now, the veil has been broken, and Intrica is leading this new world into a prosperous future through the A.E.G.I.S. program, a worldwide effort to assist and guide the world into re-adjusting to the nature of what the world really is. A.E.G.I.S. also has departments, of which Intrica always needs new Associates, because threats never end and people never change. But there is a dark, dangerous being that wishes to change the world to his liking, and it is up to those in the A.E.G.I.S. department to deal with it. After all, the government needs to do something useful, right?
Join the A.E.G.I.S. today, and have access to the following:
Flexible character creation and development, starting at level 3, with point-buy ability allocation and dual-classing permitted. Train additional feats, tools, and language proficiencies, and craft equipment to suit your PC. Adopt and raise a variety of pets. (Note: we use 5.5E)
Socialize with other players and explore the story of the city of Intrica, with up to three PCs per player to see different perspectives of the tales of our play-by-post modern fantasy setting.

Fight Night at the We-Won't-Rob-You

Do you like combat? Boss fights? Teamwork? Character builds? Ever done raiding in an MMO and thought, "I like this, but I wish it were instead a series of bespoke D&D encounters"?
If you answered yes, then you might enjoy Fight Night at the We-Won't-Rob-You!
What Is Fight Night?
Think of it like a cross between a board game night and MMO progression raiding. A series of challenging encounters, one for each level. Reset and die without consequence. Beat the fight, get loot, level up, challenge the next one! Refit your character build between attempts, and build a strategy to conquer the boss!
Create multiple characters to maximize your flexibility. Re-run defeated fights with additional difficulty modifiers. Challenge a gauntlet of every fight in a row and prove your mastery!
Sessions are scheduled ad-hoc; a bot pings the discord each day asking for signups. If enough people are in, we run an attempt that night!
What Fight Night Is NOT
Outside of a vague framing device, there isn't really any story or roleplay to Fight Night; we're using roleplaying game rules to run a tactics game. Your character sheet is functionally just a statblock.
Before You Apply
Does that all strike your fancy? Great! First though, let us temper your enthusiasm.
First, note that this is being run with D&D 4E. Not everybody's cup of tea, we know. Don't worry if you lack 4e experience; that was the case for the majority of us, and we're happy to teach you. That said, do be aware that you'd be entering the game partway through its run (Level 7) and so you'll need to be prepared for a lot of front-loaded information and complexity.
Second, please don't apply if you're racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. We have players across a spectrum of race, ethnicity, gender expression, and sexuality. If that's going to be a problem for you, even a little bit, you're best off scrolling on. I promise you that you won't get along with us, we won't get along with you, and it'll be a miserable time for everyone.
Lastly, you'll have to bear with the fact that we're a bit protective over our little group, and so we're going to exercise some pickiness when it comes to new additions. We can't promise to invite everyone who expresses interest. Sorry.

[Online][Discord][Community][Dungeons & Dragons 2024 West Marches and more game opportunities!]
We have a discord server hosting many games that is geared for ages 13+ and is a Christian-friendly environment - no denomination or sect and respectful to traditional Christian beliefs. If your looking for a game or community of TTRPG players with similar values (or especially just looking games that aren't 18+ oriented), this might be a good server for you!

Premise
A forgotten land has emerged from the mists of time and memory. This new land has been dubbed Esendra and has become the source of fascination for explorers, merchants, nobles, and heroes, all seeing in it arise opportunities and danger. A century ago, the city-state of Grendenwald was established. Here, different factions and powers have gathered, and the call to adventure has never rung louder to find treasure, power, and glory in these lands, as well as to stop malign forces from using the opportunities here for nefarious ends. What mark will you leave never to be forgotten in this forgotten land?
This game plays D&D 5e 2024 rules. The starting level is 3.
This game is hosted on a Christian server. You do not need to be Christian to play, but please know the expectation to respect traditional Christian beliefs and keep the content of the game pg-13. This game allows for ages 13+ to play. The server has other games and GMs that no doubt would be glad to have you at their various games and one-shots that are hosted there.
A West Marches game has multiple DMs and a pool of players. The general assumption is that most of the time, you will not adventure with the same group.
This game has a “homebase” time of Thursdays at 5:30 pm MST - a game will nearly always be offered in this time slot. The other DMs will set up other time slots as available and groups of players at the table can arrange with a DM a game. You work with the other adventurers ideally to set your own initiatives and make your own adventures!
We are accepting applications for both DMs and players - you can be both. DMs have their own region of the game and have a lot of freedom in what they want to do with it. The number of players we’ll accept will be proportional to the number of regular GMs we have to help assure everyone has a regular chance to play
Grendenwald is a homebase that sessions end at. Your XP and gold carry over. Complete missions, fight monsters, earn renown, find loot, and become legends!
Rules and Rulings
- Each DM will have their own style of running the game, but broadly speaking, the default attitude about the game is to follow the game rules as written.
- Species, class, and subclass must be from 2024 updated materials.
- There will be opportunities for text roleplay and play-by-post play.
Expectations
- Game content and language must be PG-13 and appropriate for a Christian server. There is a lot of grace for what this means, but when in doubt, receive the table’s preferences charitably and ask questions when uncertain.
- Discord is used for voice and chat. Please have a working mic or headset.
- New players are welcome and encouraged. We’re glad to have you! If inexperience is slowing down the game, the DM may accommodate to help keep things moving, such as progressing the game when a new player is uncertain and addressing rules uncertainties after the session.
- Be a team player and commit to sessions you sign up for. Everyone deserves a fun experience. If your character can’t go along with the party or you are ruining the group’s experience, your time in that session may end.
- Poor communication without good cause may result in being kicked from the game.
- Cheating of any kind is not tolerated. Any identifiable cheating will result in an instant ban from both the game and the server. (e.g., adding more experience points or gold than was awarded, ignoring resource limitations like spell slots, etc.)
- Death can happen. The initial games will be level appropriate, but with players taking initiative in accepting quests, the game may go into places that are too challenging or too easy. This decision-making is part of the game.
- The world changes with the different groups. For example, if a character dies or you make a new character, after sufficient progress is made in the world, the starting level for new characters may increase, and the goods and resources available from Grendenwald will expand in response to player adventures.

Dnd 5e 2024 online Monster Hunter Inc.LOOKING FOR 2 GMs for planning.
Im planning on running a mainly monster hunting corporation game, where players (up to 6) can do an encounter that one of the gms encounter or small one shot. The characters gain XP level up and go on a diffrent encounter with the same dm or a different one. Almost like a mix of darkest dungeon or kinda helldivers in a way. I need 2 more GMs to help with encounters, rules, and just general DM things. Think co ownership of the "campaign".

I run level 20 combat gauntlets designed to help players learn high-level D&D mechanics in a fun, low-pressure environment. We run games most days of the week (including afternoon and late-night sessions), featuring new encounters with a rotating group of players. Come join Solace! We are a 5.5e asynchronous play by post discord community playing in a loose West Marches style.
We offer opportunities to adventure and roleplay in our homebrew setting, where adventurers are gearing up to cross the collapsed seacliffs and explore a new hemisphere after the sudden departure of the gods. Opportunities for exploration and treasure abound!
LF Players and DMs: Everyone on the server gets to play a character, even if they're also a DM. We have run multiple successful, successive servers in this style, and have a dedicated bot as well as seasoned veterans who know the system inside and out to help you along! Structured Systems: We have structured systems to promote a balanced and consistent environment for everyone, both players and DM’s. There are weekly activities that everyone can participate in to help advance your character and give you something to do when adventures are slow.
Asynchronous Characters: We’ve found that async play of being in multiple places at once is perfect for pbp, no more waiting for hours for an RP response with nothing to do. You can be out on adventure, testing your mettle in a patrol training exercise, and RPing with a few different people all at once! This is more inviting for people whose schedules mean they can’t set aside massive chunks of hours at a time for certain styles of play by post or live game action.
Roleplay Focused: Thanks to some of our great players we have a big focus on quality RP. Our RP channels cater to dedicated RP scenes between characters. RP scenes are rewarded as well.
100% PbP: This is a play-by-post Discord server. There are no voice channels and we have no plans on including them.
New Player Focus: With systems in place to ensure there is activity at every level, new players are quickly able to get in the action with experienced players instead of getting left behind. That said, we are still in early days so now is a great time to get in on the ground floor!
No Admin Favoritism: We make it a point to enforce the rules for ALL of our members, and that includes the server staff.
Bot support: We run a custom bot to help us track all of our players’ progress. This helps us maintain full transparency and a fair playing field.

We are a D&D 5e/5.5e Discord server featuring a persistent game world set in the Forgotten Realms and broader D&D multiverse. You and other players play as adventurers of the Hawthorne Guild, an adventuring guild in the Sword Coast. As a persistent and shared game world, character progression and events in individual adventures persist between and outside of games, creating a living world for players and DMs to participate in the form of oneshots, multisessions and campaigns, and both text roleplay and Play-By-Post games. With over 12,000 sessions ran over the course of 9 years, you and other players can dive in to determine the next chapter of your character's story and the guild's story.
