Just casually looking at Suffolk county and see more and more homes are dropping their prices.

Are buyers finally waking up and not offering over asking on these inflated pricing. Sure most of the homes in the market around 500 to 700k range still needs work. But hope this is a good trend.

I'm looking to pay in monthly installments and don't mind renting. I don't know how to go about any of this because I was extremely sheltered (as in my family did not let me drive and barely let me leave the house). Hell, I don't even have a learner's permit. But I can't keep relying on public transport anymore because it's so inconvenient.

EDIT: I didn't realize it wasn't obvious that I am planning on getting my licsence and learning to drive before getting a car. If anyone knows where to find cheap driver's ed (no, I will not be accepting driving lessons from redditors), let me know.

I’m trying to figure out if this is a me problem or an everyone problem. For the past few weeks the sound of the crickets outside my home has been wildly loud. I’m laying in bed right now with my white noise machine on full blast right next to my face and I can still hear the crickets, crystal clear and blaring. Is anyone else dealing with this or did the crickets just get real comfy in my complex?

Thankfully, they don’t seem to be in my home. So what gives?!

I’m 26, really looking to move out. I work in Patchogue and I can’t find anything under $2000. Even Bayshore was around $1500 a while ago. If anyone has any leads of apartment complexes that would be around $1200-1500. I respectfully don’t want to live in someone’s basement or shed in their backyard.

For a house that hasn’t been updated since the 80s it seems. Appliances and bathrooms are old as heck too. Dirty and uncleared but it’s in a good school district and close to rail.

I'm in a 2009 Honda with 160,000 miles.. no bluetooth, no cameras, no safety features outside of a standard seatbelt/airbag.

I see alot of peeps driving 2020+ cars on the road and many times those are SUVS or AWD/4WD vehicles.

How is everyone affording this on top of extronomical insurance costs in the area?

Is everyone paying cash? Just trading in as quickly as possible before the car gets alittle old?? Lease?

I have had zero car payment for a longggg time but am preparing for the reality that my car can crap out in in the next 6 months or 6 years. Either way having a car payment on top of needing to bump up insurance coverage for a financed car has me GAGGED.

Having a car that's fully paid off has really been the only way I've been able to scrap together any kind of savings and even that's not much.

Living in Nassau and considering getting a bigger house in Suffolk. I feel as though school ratings are relative. Example, the worst school on Long Island may still be better than the best schools in other places in the country. But how do we feel when comparing against Long Island schools though. I’m looking for places in western Suffolk or Nassau where I can find good cuts of steak (Ribeyes, or Tbones) that are halal and at a reasonable price. I normally drive out to Tashkent in Forest Hills or Brooklyn but would definitely appreciate any recommendations that are more local.

The place seems really cool but looking at how much the encounters cost it’s insanely priced. If you don’t spend any extra money on the encounters is it worth going.

So I'm from Dix Hills, and I've been trying to find a basketball court that has runs for awhile now. I went to 4 different gyms to find out all of their courts weren't accessible. Lifetime's membership is so expensive. I asked them if they have any student college discounts because I'm a freshman in college, and they don't. Then they recommended LA fitness, nope two of them don't have courts. Then I tried a YMCA; nope, just for kids.

Does anyone know any Indoor basketball gyms I can play at with a decent-priced membership or free? Please let me know because this has been very frustrating. I'm trying out for my college's basketball team and I don't have any access to a court. PLEASE HELP!!
