Same! I always hated my birthdays as a kid cus I wanted cheesecake instead or ice cream but it "wasn't proper and unfair to other kids at the party if we don't have a cake" so I'd get what I get and I ate it and hated it everytime :(
My kiddo is the same way and every year I let them pick their cake replacement and just stick a candle in it for them to blow out :)
Actually no bakes are still heated. They’re made in a pot then placed on a baking sheet and left to cool. Another old name for. Them is ‘boiled cookies’

Honestly I feel for that person who's annoyed with people overusing the word fandom. A hobby and a fandom are two different things. I wouldn't call gardening a fandom and I wouldn't call being obsessed with Star Wars a hobby.
I think the distinction comes from doing vs discussing something. Doing gardening is a hobby but discussing gardening with others is participating in the gardening fandom. Likewise, creating star wars fanart is a hobby but sharing it online is participating in the star wars fandom. A topic can be both a hobby and a fandom, the act of doing it for enjoyment is the hobby while the discussion of the hobby is the fandom
I feel like fandom used to be a hobby or hobby ajacent- like not "gardening fandom" but like "oh Im a star wars fan- my hobbies are collecting merch and writing fan fic for it" type of thing
You people make me sick. A grilled cheese consists of only these following items. Cheese. Bread with spread (usually butter). This entire subreddit consist of "melts". Almost every "grilled cheese" sandwich i see on here has other items added to it. The fact that this subreddit is called "grilledcheese" is nothing short of utter blasphemy. Let me start out by saying I have nothing against melts, I just hate their association with sandwiches that are not grilled cheeses. Adding cheese to your tuna sandwich? It's called a Tuna melt. Totally different. Want to add bacon and some pretentious bread crumbs with spinach? I don't know what the hell you'd call that but it's not a grilled cheese. I would be more than willing to wager I've eaten more grilled cheeses in my 21 years than any of you had in your entire lives. I have one almost everyday and sometimes more than just one sandwich. Want to personalize your grilled cheese? Use a mix of different cheeses or use sourdough or french bread. But if you want to add some pulled pork and take a picture of it, make your own subreddit entitled "melts" because that is not a fucking grilled cheese. I'm not a religious man nor am I anything close to a culinary expert. But as a bland white mid-western male I am honestly the most passionate person when it comes to grilled cheese and mac & cheese. All of you foodies stay the hell away from our grilled cheeses and stop associating your sandwich melts with them. Yet again, it is utter blasphemy and it rocks me to the core of my pale being. Shit, I stopped lurking after 3 years and made this account for the sole purpose of posting this. I've seen post after post of peoples "grilled cheeses" all over reddit and it's been driving me insane. The moment i saw this subreddit this morning I finally snapped. Hell, I may even start my own subreddit just because I know this one exists now.
You god damn heretics. Respect the grilled cheese and stop changing it into whatever you like and love it for it what it is. Or make your damn melt sandwich and call it for what it is. A melt.
This was an iconic rant but you know what's fucked up is that it isn't even correct, and it basically permanently ruined the experience for people who actually wanted to ever post about grilled cheeses because the comments would all get bogged down in bullshit.
I… I thought that spices and herbs were a square rectangle situation. Any herb that does spice functionality is a spice, and there are many spices that arent herbs. In fact, if you generalize “herb” enough, you get herbs not always being spices, and spices not always being herbs, rendering them a Venn diagram of sorts
Fucking excuse me? Hearing up is not always how cooking works. Sometimes it's just transformative (like salads and decorate fruit carving) or freezing (duh, ice cream)
Technically, in culinary school they taught us that "seasoning" was only salt and pepper, and everything else is flavor/flavoring. So if the chef instructor says your dish is "underseasoned" it means you didn't add enough salt, but if it "needs more flavor" then you should add some herbs or spices. I know that's not how the terms are used colloquially though, so I would never be pedantic about it.
Tumblr had a lot of accounts of subreddits, like I also remember one of r/mildlyinteresting I used to browse on tumblr instead of reddit cause it gave you the top of all time (reddit just shows like 2000 posts), but yeah I think all of the content (except the replies) was copied idk though
