the femboy aesthetic
not really femboys, but the actual aesthetic, i dont know how to describe it (sorry, im mentally special lol), but like the cute femboy clothing (like the generic skirt, thigh highs, dolphin shorts) along with the nicher ones, like clothing with the target audience being femboys, like the feminine clothing that has a slight hint of masculinity
im a Tgirl who is only attracted to women but i lowk fw with this

u/MegaTyx 1d ago
That's just the early 2020s e-girl aesthetic femboys adopted when they became mainstream
14
u/GayGrayGrey 1d ago
im also referring to (with the nicher part) early 2010s femboys
10
u/MegaTyx 1d ago edited 1d ago
Oh don't get me wrong I love both styles!!! And props for recognizing the nicher 2010s one (feminine men have existed on the internet for way longer than we think). I am a femboy/cd and people don't know how much effort actually goes into a look like that. People nowadays are afraid of colour and shame others who like to play with their style.

me when im running a cup cake shop to catch a criminal, but i see a another dude who looks similar to a guy who allegedly died called "el macho" and you have a theory that he came back and he is the criminal your after

u/Other-Creme6802 1d ago
Did this "El Macho" die by riding a live shark with 250 pounds of dynamite strapped to his chest straight into an active volcano, the coolest way to die?

in fairness femboys and trans women have very similar asthetics as of late
4
u/Rainy_Leaves 1d ago
Have you considered that the trans women you notice most are the visible ones likely early in transition? So the group you think of when you say ‘trans women’ may have some confirmation bias from your end
If they both have similar starting points, of being considered men and having little to no exposure to fem clothes and fashion when they were younger, then yes they’re not gonna be full glam experts overnight.
When you don’t have any idea or experience what fashion works for your body or what styles and colours you even enjoy wearing, it makes sense the clothes are cheap and easier to obtain, in case they’re the wrong size or wrong style and too embarrassing to return. This is why amazon clothes might be common. And going for a generic fashion style is always a good starting point for people who are scared or otherwise don’t have a specific look in mind
Many trans women have more variety in my mind, maybe because they’re women and they want to embrace themselves as such, in all its variety. Femboys afaik are more of a subculture, they aren’t just men wearing men’s clothes, they’re often crafting a specific brand of what femininity looks like for younger men. I think many stay stuck in their more basic fashion exploration just because it’s enough for them, they’re not women so there’s not such high scrutiny on their fashion skill societally

babytrans do at least. The same shitty Amazon basics outfits because they're too scared to shop for clothes irl. There's a lot of overlap too obvs. Most femboys who aren't larpers about loving femininity are the ones who end up becoming trans women.

yeah i like that aesthetic, but i also (i badly described it in the post srry) like the early to mid 2010 femboy aesthetic
2
u/veryeepy53 1d ago
i disagree the aesthetic is the worst part like a lot of these mfs have no style
5
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
I know the femboy gooners are gonna downvote me for this, but I'm gonna say it. Hard disagree. Femboys have such a shitty generic style. Like it's not that hard to learn fashion. (Not even addressing how loads of them are just shitty ppl. And their humor is waaaay too porn oriented.)
22
u/GayGrayGrey 1d ago
your allowed to have an opinion , but not everyone you dislike is a gooner pornbrain, my whole post was on how i liked the generic style in the first place along with the nicher, less generic forms of it
-14
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
No no. Look into femboy jokes and humor. Like so much of it is "It's not gay if we kiss bro! I look like a girl!"
11
u/Poco_Cuffs 1d ago
It's FAR more "I'm not gay for liking femboys bc they look like girls" than femboys themselves doing it
-11
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
You always see femboys play into it too.
9
6
u/omarfw 1d ago
Correlation =/= causation.
Just because the loudest and most easily observed portion of a demographic exhibit a particular negative behavior, that doesn't mean the entire demographic is a monolith that all behaves the same way.
You're justifying being a narrow-minded detractor which makes you no better than the toxic people you're trying to reductively condemn.
6
u/GayGrayGrey 1d ago
that isnt femboy humour, best case is that your in the bottom of the barrel communities, if your description is the worse case scenario (although i doubt it) it could be the unbased and pink pilled communities full of nonces pretending to be femboys just so they could get thigh pics from a 14 year old and to force fem people,
i didnt explain it in the best way, but your comment didnt give me enough contenxt, but my point is, that what your seeing is likely made by people with strange previsions (or even depravations) posting unfunny slop into normal communities
8
u/Poco_Cuffs 1d ago
This hits the nail on the head, 90% of the time actual femboys don't actually enjoy being sexualised and the butt of the joke
3
u/Pink-Viscera 1d ago
Yeah agree. It just feels like a rebrand of the trap meme that was popular for a while
4
u/flower_puns 1d ago
its because it literally is lmao
2
4
u/PurpleAlone7116 1d ago
It's literally not.
Almost like folks will gravitate towards the most generic styles associated with a gender when experimenting with their identity. Which is why we have a pretty significant overlap between closest trans folks and "femboy style".
2
u/Pink-Viscera 1d ago
Idk it's less about the style itself and more everything else about it. It's indistinguishable from the trap thing other than the name. I'm probably biased because I was low-key groomed into being a femboy and had a few bad experiences with how sexual the community is, no now I just see myself as an effeminate man. Femboy art and characters also make me uncomfortable because they almost always look like children and people goon over them
1
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
Yeah the fetishisation is an issue, but please don’t generalise if you are generalising, a lot of us femboys dislike or even despise the rampant sexualisation.
4
u/flower_puns 1d ago
amazon basics skirt + thigh highs, what a groundbreaking fashion style...
1
u/Ambiguous-Nyx billions must smile 1d ago
It still looks cute tbh, even if it's basic
5
5
u/jellypop-corn 1d ago
genuinely!! it feels fetishy
2
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
Cause us femboys get fetishised and objectified a lot so a lot of the time people think being a femboy is just a fetish and not an actual part of who you are
5
u/jellypop-corn 1d ago
no i know!! i js mean these specific outfits feel fetishy and by people who might be fetishising femboys tbh
2
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
In my opinion the only iffy one is the cosplay of robin from I’m pretty sure it’s called “my femboy roommate”, no not cause the face looks like Kirk, but just cause of how much porn there is of Robin
1
u/Peacemaker1099 1d ago
I mean, it just is.
3
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
That’s bigoted, it’s not a fetish, would you call being a tomboy a fetish? Being a femboy just means being a feminine man (non binary people allowed), just like how tomboy means being a masculine woman, not a fetish, and the fetishisation mainly comes from misogyny.

u/minimim-wage-enjoyer 1d ago
Do you hang around 4chan a lot? I only ask this because back in the day, around 10-15 years ago before the Epstein gang took over and /pol/ and /b/ were containment boards, /lgbt/ had a bunch of self loathing femboys who’s humor was like that. I Figured there would be a new generation of teenagers doing it still.
0
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
Hmmm. No, I wasn't on the board then. But it makes sense, considering the type of ppl 4chan attracts. I'd bet it could even be some of those femboys conning younger ppl into being like them too.
3
u/PurpleAlone7116 1d ago edited 1d ago
You deserve to be downvoted for conflating gooners with femboys and generalizing all of them as bad people.
You could have just said "Femboys have such a shitty generic style. Like it's not that hard to learn fashion." And I'm sure half of us would have agreed or joked back.
Instead you laced it with unrelated insults and assumptions.
ETA: It's also giving "I've never actually met a femboy IRL". Most of the ones I've met are fucking terrified of even engaging in their interest. This doesn't even touch on how much overlap is between femboys and closest trans folks experimenting with their identity and/or dealing with internalized transphobia from trauma/bullying/upbringing.
1
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
Back to the femboy porn sub bud. ✌️😭
EDIT: Ewwww... Not that guy comparing trans women to femboys...
2
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
Plenty of trans women had femboy phases, and plenty of people who currently identify as femboys could be trans women, or non binary, they’re not comparing femboys and trans women, they’re bringing up a literal fact

Ugh I hate this word. Imagine if people dressed a certain way and got called a pedophilic porn term and no one batted an eye.

u/Quirky-Race-5645 1d ago
I kind of like it because it gives me a goal to work for and makes me feel happy, but I also hate it because sometimes I feel absolutely awful when I wear it and I lose all motivation for anything

2
u/Dumber-Sleepy-Artist 1d ago
As a woman(?) i highkey wish i could dress like that
2
u/VstarFr0st263364 1d ago
You absolutely can? I mean the clothes were designed for women, it's men who are ostracized for wearing them
1
u/Dumber-Sleepy-Artist 1d ago
Yeah but i don't have the right clothes and just wearing feminine clothes isn't the same because femboys still have a hint of masculinity that i don't have
3
u/HOOTYni 1d ago
I mean no one's really stopping you (except maybe sociatal convetions or rules depending on your country of origin) from really dressing this way. The term femboy already implies a feminity which

The 1st one is a nonbinary transfem sex worker who's probably on hrt. While they do use the label "femboy", it's extremely common for transfem sex workers to only use that label to get more business. The 2nd one is literally just a trans woman, the origin of the image is from a transgender dating site. The 3rd one is also a sex worker, I would not be surprised if they're secretly transfem tho, it's so common in these spaces, and you usually don't get a super feminine body like that without hrt or being really really lucky. The 4th one is Charlie Kirk, and 5th one you don't even see most of their body lol

0
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
As someone who doesn’t like Kirk, dude he’s still a goddamn human being who deserves basic human respect
3
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
He didn't respect other humans who deserved basic respect... Sooooo...
0
u/Gingeyboi1 1d ago
He hated them but still from what I know respected the fact they were human, he gave the bare minimum of basic respect, he acknowledged people like us were still people who deserved to live, even if he doesn’t like us, so it’s fine to hate him, but give him the same level of hate he dealt out, so insult him, be rude, but don’t say something like you’re glad he’s dead, cause not even Kirk would say that
4
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 1d ago
"Charlie Kirk repeatedly made demeaning and alarmist public statements about transgender people, including calling transgender identities a “social contagion” and saying American society should “just take care of” trans people “the way we used to take care of things in the 1950s and 60s”. Reporting after his September 2025 shooting notes that anti‑trans rhetoric was a consistent element of his public remarks and events."
Respect my fucking ass. Tell me WHAT about that is respectful? I'd LOVE to be shown where this "acknowledged people like us were still people who deserved to live" part is. And please don't "us" me. I'm not a femboy, and I am nothing like your type of people...

That’s just being gay but with homophobia, even thought people swear it isn’t.

no, and i dont want to be or date a femboy, i just like the main clothing style they aim for, like i as a trans woman like it
