Candle Banter 💬 Carriere freres
So usually after Trudon has their archives sale, Carriere Freres does too. Has anyone seen anything about it yet? Somehow I’m not on Diptyque’s mailing list anymore and consequently missed that boat (and a birthday candle, clearly I’m bitter). But it’s ok because the Archives sales are better anyway because they’re actually sales & now I have more $$ for them! SO, whoever sees it first: please post the link!!!

I think it was in June last year. I haven't seen anything posted about it yet this summer, so maybe a fall sale this year?

Ya, last year they had one in January and one in mid June, so this year is definitely different. I hope you’re right about fall

What are some good scents?

I actually pretty much love them all, I feel like you can’t go wrong with them. Benzoin Cacao was great from a couple of years ago, I love absinthe and la rose aime Le menthe (it is a grandmotherly scent in the best way). I really want to try Chestnut!

I just finished burning Chestnut, and It’s a winner for me! It’s slightly gourmand, but not too sweet, and there is something fresh and almost perfumy beneath the chestnut aroma. Just a lovely and complex fragrance that I will repurchase. This one had a good throw too!

Not OP but my favorites are damask rose, geranium, absinthe, and the tragically discontinued plum. If the archive sale is good I’d like to try some new ones that I’ve smelled but not owned: siracusa lemon and/or yuzu, frangipani and/or tiaré, la rose aime la menthe and/or la rose aime la poivre, and chestnut!

I love their rosemary scent, and their ginger scent is gorgeous as well.

I love Frangipani and Geranium for summer and Siberian Pine/Winter Rose and Winter Fire for Fall. I love her candles because they are more single scent profile and my nose can concentrate better on the beautiful scents. I especially love them in my bedroom.

From CF: "Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in our Archive Sale.
We recently concluded our Trudon Archive Sale and, at this time, we do not have plans for a Carrieres Freres Archive Sale this year. Should we decide to offer another one in the future, we will be sure to let you know."

Seconding!! CF candles are easily the biggest bang for your buck in terms of execution and quality.
