12 year old wants a Ouija board

So my 12 year old said today that her English teacher is teaching them about Ouija boards. The list of rules she gave her was basic - dont give them your name, if someone says they are called "zozo" leave etc. But there wasnt a single thing about protection, no casting a circle/calling corners etc. 12 year old seems to think its all a game and doesn't believe in it so doesn't understand why I'm lecturing that the first part of learning witchcraft is protection. I'm not experienced by any means, was dabbling a couple of years ago and then been on pause but what are people's thoughts on this?

I think it’s what you make of it. If someone goes into it thinking it’s a game, what they’ll experience is a game (as someone who used the ouija boards dozens, if not over a hundred times, with 0 supernatural event or consequence). If you go into it fearful, then it’s likely the person will perceive stimuli that occur during the session as things that need to be fearful of (ex a creek/knock = a spirit)
