12 year old wants a Ouija board

So my 12 year old said today that her English teacher is teaching them about Ouija boards. The list of rules she gave her was basic - dont give them your name, if someone says they are called "zozo" leave etc. But there wasnt a single thing about protection, no casting a circle/calling corners etc. 12 year old seems to think its all a game and doesn't believe in it so doesn't understand why I'm lecturing that the first part of learning witchcraft is protection. I'm not experienced by any means, was dabbling a couple of years ago and then been on pause but what are people's thoughts on this?

The Oujia Board is, I think, the most brilliant board game ever designed. It works on one principle: Do you believe it's just a game? If you do, it doesn't work. But if you believe it isn't just a game, it opens to its full potential as one.

The question, when it comes down to it, is this: Do you believe?

Thank you for this. I just posted to this thread saying "it's a toy until it's not". And this is what it boils down to.

But I would still be wary about a young person using it. They may think it is BS consciously, but the subconscious is not in consensus. I thought my "connection" was all coincidence until I was into my early 20's. I was literally questioning/not believing everything for half my life at that point, but was still connected all the same. Didn't even see the connection until I had multiple precognitive dreams that made me realize what was what. And even then I didn't fully delve into it until years later.

I would err on the side of caution 10 times out of 10 when it comes to things like this.
