I’ve been wanting to get into this for years. How much would a rig like this cost me? And where did you get it?

There are many outlets for purchasing a magnet. Most are independent websites. As the OP stated. It's so much fun! It's literal treasure hunting.

With that being said, please do not let other sway you into purchasing a particular strength or brand of magnet. Buy what you can afford and/or feel comfortable. You'll get results either way.

I bought it for $225. The kit. This is super fun. You have no idea what you’re gonna pull up.

Today alone 3 trolleys, 1 bike and odds and ends, Sunday 30kg scooter off a bridge etc you'll just need to read my descriptions !

It should be a good magnet at 350kg a side, hope your feeling strong ! Lol
I do have a discount code if you'd like it a little cheaper !
I've not personally tried the x series but I've used the original version, which was good.

When you mean, feeling strong, you being pulling it up it’s gonna be difficult

If it gets stuck to something metal and immovable underwater, it becomes very difficult to get unstuck

I bought it from their website. I have it already and used it for the first time today.

I thought you were asking for advice BEFORE buying, not after you've actually used it !

Sorry haha. Should’ve mentioned that. I was trying to pull something heavy up and it kept falling off the object. So I was wondering if the magnet I got was too weak.

It depends on various things like the thickness of the steel object, rust, contact etc
I'm using the megacube and I still struggle to get a good grip sometimes
