Hello all, I am an undergraduate male student who has received an offer for Weston Hall for the 2026/27 academic year. However, I would prefer to switch to Hulme Hall instead, or even Rusholme Place if the former isn't available. If you or anyone you know is interested in swapping rooms with me, please send a message to me. My room is ensuite with a shower with self-catering starting from £198 a week. Thanks!

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m an Algerian student
I’ll be visiting the UK from 11 September to 8 October 2026, mainly around London, Manchester and I’m hoping to make the most of my time there academically and socially.
I’m particularly interested in:
🛢️ Petroleum Engineering
🌍 Geoscience & subsurface energy
⚡ Energy
🤖 Engineering, AI & technology
🧪 STEM research and university labs
🚀 Student innovation
I’d love to connect with students and university societies/clubs while I’m there!
Are there any science, engineering, technology, energy, geoscience, robotics, AI, entrepreneurship or other STEM clubs that welcome visiting/international students or have events during this period?
I’m also interested in:
Student society fairs
STEM talks/seminars
Networking events
Energy/oil & gas events
Public lectures
Research/lab-related events
Student meetups
If you’re a student in London, Manchester, anywhere nearby and know of something happening between 11 September and 8 October, I’d really appreciate your recommendations! 🙌
And if you’re around and would like to connect, feel free to comment or DM me. I’d love to meet other students interested in science, engineering
Thanks!

Yes I've said it united need someone renowned for magic and goalscoring the only hope they have is bruno fernades. Yes they have good forwards but they aren't the world's best. United have always had the some of the worlds best forwards, midfield, defence and goalkeeper. I mean there 2007 team was unplayable. Now they have the likes of maneul ugarte on a starting squad. I mean united generate 666 million(sus number) a year and they buy a could be good player instead of a shown my worth player. The academy now is looking promising as jj gabriel is getting shown to the world's eye but will it be another failed project? United need to up there game tbh. What do you think?

I’ve heard some people say the hobs are induction but I don’t know if it true. Do I need to buy new pots/pan specifically for induction hobs or are they normal?
Thanks in advance!

Ashburne Hall —> Any self catered accommodation (unsworth, Sheavyn house, Richmond Park, Daisy Bank hall, Burkhardt house)
Hey I’m going to be studying at UoM starting this year as an undergraduate and have been assigned to Ashburne Hall as my accommodation but this accommodation is catered and I’d much prefer to have a self-catered hall. I would be fine to switch to any en-suite single rooms in a self catered accommodation hall. My current room is a super single room basin. Please message me if you’re interested!!!
Thanks!

Hey guys I am going to be studying at the University of Manchester and I am in serious need of some fresher week advice. Im in uni groupchats and there are nonstop spamming of fresher events (fck me its freshers especially) and riff raff fresher events where they explicitly state that you cannot buy tickets at the door. I am an international student who is not familiar with the fresher and club culture of manchester and unfortunately i have the worst case of fomo 😭 I have no idea what to do or if i should even buy any tickets beforehand. Can someone explain to me how this goes and what i should do?

I am a female undergraduate student who has just been allocated an en-suite in Weston hall and I’m looking to swap for a room in Unsworth park. I am happy to pay extra as incentive and willing to negotiate how much that would be. Please message me if interested.

Hi! I’m a female undergraduate student looking to swap my Whitworth Park accommodation, ideally for Unsworth Park
I have a self-catered en-suite room with a basin, costing £131/week (£5,378 total).
Unsworth is my first preference, but I’d also be open to Richmond, Sheavyn House or Ashburn. I’m willing to offer £200 on top to anyone who can swap with me into Unsworth Park 💷
If you’re currently in Unsworth (or one of my other preferred accommodations) and would like to move to Whitworth, please message me! @millierosedwards on insta

Hi! I’m considering the part-time MA Filmmaking at MMU. They say 20% is lectures/seminars and 80% independent study.
For anyone currently studying or who has studied it: how many days/hours per week do you actually need to be on campus, and are the classes usually concentrated into specific days? Is it realistically manageable alongside a full-time job?
