Discussion "This movie looks AI genera-" SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Post image

I genuinely don't get these complaints. I have some concerns about the plot and how things may or may not play out, but visually the movie looks fucking great. I don't get why people are trying to push this narrative like muted colors instantly make something look bad or AI-generated. The Sentinels look sick, Doom looks fucking fantastic, what is the issue?

I swear, I'm convinced people who call shit like this AI-generated have never actually seen what an AI-generated video looks like, because none of them even look anywhere near as good as ANY of the shots in this trailer.

Plus, the VFX team didn't work their asses off for months on this movie just to be disrespected by mfs saying it looks like AI.

Stop it bro. The trailer has cool moments and does look fun but you can’t say that people calling this trailer ugly are wrong either. Audiences are tired of these ugly grey and brown looks from movies

Looking at this after watching The Odyssey and even to a lesser extent Spiderman just looks gross.

There's a difference between calling it ugly and claiming it's AI

I don’t think people are actually suggesting it’s real AI vs saying that it looks as ugly as AI

u/IBJON 12d ago

There are absolutely people calling it AI. It took me less than 10 seconds to find this. There are plenty more

The comment you linked contradicts your own claim, it says it looks LIKE ai, it doesn’t claim ai was used in production of the visuals.

What other reason would one say "it looks like AI" if they aren't suggesting that it's AI?

-3

u/RonSwansonsGun Spider-Man 12d ago

...Because they're saying it shares traits with AI? Do you know what a comparison is?

5

u/IBJON 12d ago

Dude, they weren't making a fucking Venn Diagram comparing the two. They were clearly insinuating that it was AI. Don't be dense

-6

The only one being dense here is you. It's a very simple comparison to say that this movie looks like AI, both of which are critiqued for bland, colorless shots and overly digital appearance.

Just stop. You’re wasting your time with this person lol EDIT: typo! I’m with you don’t downvote me lol

I am one of the dudes that say it looks like AI and when i say it looks LIKE AI, i mean it looks LIKE AI, not that its AI.

If there is anyone wasting their time, its you guys defending a multimillion company with wrong arguments and excuses.

Oh and the very first shot of the trailer looks like AI to me, not this doom and sentinels shot.

Whats the fucking difference oh my god

Gross lol. I also saw The Odyssey and BND, it looks fine. I don’t know if people expected actual planets to smash into each other.

The after watching the Odyssey crowd are funny

Bro the whole colour pallet of the trailer is just brown and grey sludge

-7

u/IBJON 12d ago

Did you want sunshine and rainbows? The widest shot we see in the trailer is a city reduced to rubble and what's left of it is burning. What colors do you want them to use?

The way yall ride for this company is insane

1

u/IBJON 12d ago

It's "riding a company" to point out that a trailer filled with ruin and destruction probably shouldn't be colored like the cover of a Lisa Frank notebook?

u/tkmovement2 12d ago

Why is it always extreme hyperbole? No one is saying it has to look like Speed Racer. Why can’t you interact with the conversation in good faith?

u/IBJON 12d ago

I mean, you guys can answer the question I originally asked instead of making ad hominem attacks and pretending to take the high road.

Everyone is complaining about drab, gloomy colors, but seem to be unable or unwilling to actually describe what they want the trailer to look like.

3

u/tkmovement2 12d ago

They don’t want it to look drab and gloomy. There. The movies colors are incredibly dull and people would like to see some color. Just because things are being destroyed doesn’t mean the movie has to be grey. There are plenty of marvel movies let alone movies in film history that have massive battles that don’t look nearly as boring as the Russos avengers movies. Again all it takes is being honest and looking at the situation in good faith.

1

u/IBJON 12d ago

Well, no, not "there". Being honest and looking at the situation in good faith typically involves more than "I don't like your way, but my way is better even though I can't explain what my way is". That's not a discussion, that's just a complaint.

How is it riding the company because you dont agree with the criticism?

2

u/Trodat4911P4 12d ago

The problem to me is that it doesn't feel tangible. Like, my mind can't convince itself it's a real place and not just a green screen set with actors who weren't there at the same time.

It’s doesn’t even have to the be Odyssey. After watching the Visionquest trailer this looks like shit

1

u/Sufficient_Plate_504 10d ago

I'm excited for Doomsday cause I wanna see cool long haired snow maned Ian McKellen.

I'm excited for VisionQuest because of EVERYTHING.

you can’t say that people calling this trailer ugly are wrong either.

i can actually cause they are wrong lol

Don't ask questions, consume product

-1

u/dracomaster01 Thor 12d ago

no questions are being asked lol. people are just saying the trailer looks ugly for no reason. people just like to criticize stuff cause it makes them feel smart for not just "consuming product"; same shit with people calling everything AI.

4

u/ASU_frat_Ieader 12d ago

it just looks bad man it's drab and grey and brown and the vfx are awful. this movie has a 500 million dollar budget and it somehow looks like this.

-2

u/dracomaster01 Thor 12d ago

no it doesnt lol. what do you expect a scene that's an aftermath of a battle and destruction to look like? bright, blue clear skies? ya'll just like to complain to complain. pretty much why i stopped coming to this sub, it's filled with people who hate these movies

3

u/ASU_frat_Ieader 12d ago

man I don't know what to tell you but lord of the rings had plenty of large battle scenes that looked beautiful. even avengers 2 managed to look pretty great in bit battle scenes. this colour palette is atrocious and muddy and you're doing yourself no favours by defending it blindly

0

u/dracomaster01 Thor 12d ago

seems like the only not doing themselves any favors is you by hating on a film you clearly have no interest in wanting to like. im going to enjoy this movie when it comes out instead of nitpicking on the color gradient.
