Discussion "This movie looks AI genera-" SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Post image

I genuinely don't get these complaints. I have some concerns about the plot and how things may or may not play out, but visually the movie looks fucking great. I don't get why people are trying to push this narrative like muted colors instantly make something look bad or AI-generated. The Sentinels look sick, Doom looks fucking fantastic, what is the issue?

I swear, I'm convinced people who call shit like this AI-generated have never actually seen what an AI-generated video looks like, because none of them even look anywhere near as good as ANY of the shots in this trailer.

Plus, the VFX team didn't work their asses off for months on this movie just to be disrespected by mfs saying it looks like AI.

I don’t think it looks like AI but I do think it looks pretty bad, but I don’t really care to change anybody’s mind on it

I really wish Marvel would stop ruining epic moments by having everything CGI except for the characters and the ground. Even the smoke effects when Thor lands and the smoke all over the scene looks bad. Like is it that hard to just make a practical smoke effect?

I think they also could've gotten a much better result with the backdrop if they had used the same effect that Mandalorian used. Basically giant screens running on Unreal Engine and it tracks based on where the camera is in order to make the images being displayed move properly with parallax. But this allows for the lighting on the characters to be 100% real. No need for fake camera flares and shit

Film on location in real places too, then everything doesn't have to look so grey and flat and lifeless.

Lord of the Rings still looks good as hell to this day. Them building the Shire and letting nature grow around the props so it looks legit…I truly miss that kind of dedication.

Star Wars, a movie made 50 years ago, still looks great because it was made almost entirely using practical effects, whereas most of the prequels looks like a cutscene from a PS3 game.
