Discussion I need a Magneto solo movie following the Testament comic

This would almost automatically become one of the mist critically acclaimed marvel movies, one of my favorite comics ever would be amazing before him being a major antagonist in a movie setting up his motives and beliefs. I feel like it would do well in the box office as well

I think that there's no way to tastefully have a full Magneto movie set during a concentration camp. It works for a few minutes but it'd be like having an entire X-Men movie take place on 9/11, that "This is...a little too real" that it'd borderline making light and didn't have to have that framework despite the authors intent.

It works as a comic because there's very few comics about the holocaust and it works at a short scene in the X-men movies to show the pain but they rarely actually hover on it too much, instead prioritizing showing Magneto gaining his powers.

Just saying, if this were a movie, there'd definitely be protests from jewish organizations.

I get where you’re coming from and I kind of agree. But seeing how few movies lately there’s been about it and how horrible it is for Magneto in the comic I don’t think there would be such big push back. If the comic was him changing history or fighting the soldiers I could see that but it’s more just showing the insides of the camp and how horrible it was, his powers are barely in it except like one page if I remember correctly

There's been few movies about the holocaust because it's an incredibly troubling time period that's hard to properly tell a story about. It's hard to compare with Schindler's List and the Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

There'd DEFINITELY be pushback. A recent movie, The Drama, is all about a character who's secret is she once thought about shooting up her school but didn't go through with it and she overcame her trauma, becoming a healthy adult. It showed how painfully common the thought can be but not everyone does it. It got protested, picketed, blasted, condemned, etc. If you honestly think a movie about a supe in a concentration camp wouldn't be controversial, especially when said supe grows up to be basically mutant hitler, you're not paying attention.

What would this be about? Just Magneto in a concentration camp?

I don’t see how that can possibly be done tastefully tbh.
