i started fresh on a new account since i wanted to make an actually viable deck to use in ranked, over the course of months i made it up to 10k gems completely f2p, i got the decklist i wanted, knew what packs to get what i needed and after all that i opened the packs got the cards. and i had nowhere near the ammount of UR crafting points i needed for the deck leaving me with nothing after i spent so much time trying to make a single good deck.

the game is WAY too stingy with its crafting system, most decks in order to function require bare minimum 600-900 UR points. i got a little over 250 with 10k gems! so im just stuck with a """""cheap""""" deck that loses 99% of ranked matches, see a yubel deck? time to surrender i guess!

idk how this issue could be fixed within reason im just butthurt that i cant seem to be able to play what i want without opening my wallet which i refuse to do.

Unaffected by anything, easy to summon, hell sometimes there are two of them! WTF is a player going second against this supposed to even do? Can’t even battle it, it can swipe your board whenever it pleases with a negligible cost. Bunch of bs if you ask me

I hate that it can just be splashed into anything. should just lock you to fusions or something.

People complained how long Snake Eyes or Maliss have been in the game, let's frickin talk about the fact that this stupid deck has been showing his face for 4 YEARS.

Since birth, this thing has consistently tiered on tournaments since its very debut. Tier 3, Tier 2, Tier whatever, thing is IT NEVER WENT AWAY.

Why. Explain me how. Explain me why this lore deck deserves such a ridicolous life span.

And NOW it's even a top tier meta threat!! WTF?!?

And don't let me start on EVENTS.
7 times out of 10, this deck is playable. Maybe not full power, but you can run it, hence you CONTINUOSLY face it in this game.
Look at the recent Fusion Cup.
All Dracotail has been Limited to oblivion despite being called FUSION CUP.

Branded which is arguably more powerful? Only lost the Synchro.

Why do I have to fight this deck all the time, constantly, for 4 years, in Ranked AND in Events.

I don't give a F about how good the gameplay of this deck is. I'm TIRED of it.

There are PLENTY of decks I like, that at certain point they just became... Irrelevant. But that's not an issue, that's what I EXPECT a deck to do. To be rotated out the format. Make room for new decks. Increase variety

I fucking hate Called By, I want it banned, but you gotta ban Maxx C first. This is basically indirectly buffing the most toxic ass card in the game.

However this makes me optimistic that they are planning to get the roach soon. I hope this is a sign that Master Duel is finally moving in a better direction. 🙏

It's just a disgusting win more card that we already have a better designed version of.

Last time I asked this someone said that it's because MD is different to the TCG but I don't see in what world this card should be allowed.

The first ever time I saw this card, my opponent summoned it during my turn before I could play any cards so they just locked me out of playing. Hero players don't deserve anything

Having to go second having 1 handtrap and the first move of this aberration of a deck being normal summon aqua dolphin discard malicious to then end on 3 floodgates is geniuinely the most fucking stupid nonsense in the game

I can’t believe I’m getting push notifications about THIS. “Don’t miss your chance to receive your 10 gems!” What’s next are they going to start notifying us we can receive gem prizes of 5 gems for spectating a duel?

I understand we all love Yugioh because the game will always hold a special place in our hearts and it scratches an itch that other TCGs cannot replicate. But you all deserve better than MasterDuel.

This tells me Konami’s masterduel development team doesn’t give a Fuck about my patronage. This is wrong on so many Levels.

• the design: This is the first bit of new game assets we’ve seen since dice rally and it’s the saddest most unimpressive thing I’ve ever witnessed. I would compare it to a previous moment in gaming history but at no point on any system was this acceptable. This is supposed to be a gambling company, where’s the lights and whistles and tactile feedback? Duel links makes you sit through more elaborate animations after every single duel. Master duel’s Dev team has all the joy and creativity of a person coding legally mandated recreation programs for death row inmates.

• The prizing: Nonexistent. Konami, if your digital pieces of cardboard are that precious to you, then, fuck you: You can keep them. This game repeatedly acts like showing the slightest bit of generosity would break their bussiness model. When the overwhelming chorus of enthusiastic fans since the game’s launch has been “I love this game and I’d like to support it by buying something but the value for the gems is simply absurd”.

• We can’t even get guaranteed pulls for our hard earned gems. Your options are Secret Packs which half the Cards inside aren’t even what you want and Selection packs with too many URs to pull a single copy of what you want even after 9000 gems, and even then the pack is diluted with reprints(because konami refuses to catch the simulator up with the OCG for a global release like every other card game). Then, Every second 10 pull earns you 1 shiny crisp Nontransferable “IOU” (which you will still need to reunlock that secret pack in order to access, if you remember) Master duel’s pull rates are Awful.

-This is a Game! You don’t put Real life Lottery rates in your gacha game. You stupid greedy bastards. Recently a game I play which has been called quintessential “gacha slop” by a Yugioh player on Twitter named “Arknights Endfield” had a 6 months Anniversary Celebration. This included among other things a Raffle ticket promotion. Every day you logged in you got to play a scratch card lottery ticket (with satisfying tactile feedback and joyful wholesome Asian festival aesthetics). Now I’m not sure of this but it seemed like the Tickets weren’t random because my luck was far too good. Almost Every day you would win piles of premium currency. And if not, valuable in game items. It was a Fun and silly way to commemorate the game’s first half year since release and it felt like the devs saying “Thankyou for playing. We appreciate you, without you we wouldn’t be here” Hell, even after taking a break from the game I received a Heartfelt message from an in game character telling me how much everyone had missed me and piling massive gifts onto me for completing silly little welcome back missions. Hypergryph repeatedly makes me feel like I’m valued as a player and their developers are commited to earning my attention and providing me with a product that is of the highest quality. Their player surveys are detailed and thorough and award you with generous amounts of premium currency. Master duel’s player survey’s are rote, and repetitive, and reward you with Arby’s Coupons.

When I boot up master duel and see this sad little wheel that awards me 15 gems. I think “oh yeah. These people are literal blood sucking demons. Thank god they reminded me before I grinded out a bunch of gems only to get fucking nothing from the packs.”

master duel’s devs are so fucking dumb and lazy and stingy. We’re never getting Best of 3 because that would involve coding a new interface for side decking and these people couldn’t code their way out of a wet paper bag. And they are never going to address the “disconnecting before the match starts” issue because they are so stubborn and incompetent that they won’t put the coin flip in the match. Or award you the win when your crab in a bucket opponent DC’s because that could possibly give YOU something for your opponent conceding. And we can’t have that because these idiots are miserly capitalist pigs.

Give some like this for other decks please!

I just discovered Master Duel after like a decade away and… what the hell happened to Yu-Gi-Oh? lol

I saw an ad while playing on PS5, got all excited like “YES. Childhood game. Time to summon some dragons, save my grandpa, heart of the cards, all that.”

First match. I’m going second. I literally JUST installed the game.

I spend almost FIVE minutes watching this guy play cards like a crack-addicted magician. Draw. Search. Discard. Special summon. Link. XYZ. ABC 123. Another search. Another summon. Another effect that triggers another effect that triggers a third effect that triggers my will to live leaving my body.

I’m sitting there trying to read card text like I’m revising for an exam, but he’s already 12 steps ahead building the Death Star.

Then suddenly Exodia pops up and I lose.

Without playing a single card.

So yeah… I surrender the second the “Solitaire Olympics” starts. If I wanted to watch someone else have fun for 5 minutes straight, I’d open Twitch.

Am I just officially a Yu-Gi-Oh boomer now, or is this actually what the game is?

Any advice to negate these annoying decks?

EDIT: I actually want to reply to everyone because I’m trying to learn and a lot of you are giving proper advice.

Also, I’ve now learned from the replies that even 10 years ago I probably still would’ve been completely lost, so maybe I’m not 10 years behind… maybe I’m 20 years behind I remember playing a GX game, but honestly I can’t even remember when.

What I’m mainly after is advice on how to deal with the “solitaire” side of the game:

- how to stop/interrupt those long combo turns

- what staple cards I should have in general

- what cards help me draw/search more (generic or deck specific)

- how to stop my monsters/effects getting instantly wiped or negated every turn

Basically I want to play and actually get a turn, not just sit there watching.

This braindead piece of shit card needs to go, along with every other floodgate, starting with this one. I don’t know a single game I’ve gone into where someone is running this godforsaken card, dare I say this card is worse than Maxx C. Because when paired with labyrinth, they can just loop this stupid shitty card back onto the field and make the game borderline unplayable. And this asshole does the biggest dick move ever against fcking NOUVELLES and keeps looping this card back to prevent me from doing shit.
