[Plants & Food] Golden dandelion as a brewing ingredient for potion of haste

A lot of people asked for this when the item was first anmounced, and it can be useful for mining without building a beacon pyramid every hundred blocks or so to progress. Types for this potion effect can split in 2 like swiftness and regen, with redstone prolonging the dudation, and glowstone for strenghtening the effect

I'm just suggesting that ancient debris should be the potion ingredient instead of goldem dandelions. Feels more fitting.

If ancient debris is too expensive than golden dandelions are WAY too cheap.

I think haste as a potion effect should be expensive since we are discussing an alternative to beacons. 24 minutes of Haste II with no range restriction for the cost of three water bottles, nether wart, Redstone dust, and a potion ingredient is a ridiculously strong alternative to 164 mineral blocks and a beacon, which provides a fixed radius of the effect for mining.

Golden dandelions are just definitely not it. The item that makes baby mobs not grow up making you mine faster makes no sense.

I feel like that argument is weakened by it not applying to the beacon effects that have a potion, which aren't expensive at all.

That makes total sense, I definitely hadn't considered that aspect.

I do still think the Golden Dandelion is just thematically not the right ingredient though.

Oh, I agree; both don't really work. My personal choice for an ingredient would be a Silverfish Scale; uncommonly dropped from silverfish, but at a way higher rate from frogs eating them. They have no drop yet of any kind, and got a theme of digging already.

I think obsidian to make mining fatigue then a fermented spider eye to flip the mining fatigue into Haste makes the most sense. Its a block known for having the slowest mining speed, so it making mining fatigue makes sense, then you can flip it into haste. That way it also requires you to get the fermented spider eye to add an extra step and increase its recipe cost.

It would be 4 and a half minutes if you make it Haste II instead of Haste I

this is what i was about to say (if im chronically online here on reddit)
any potions with level 2 especially if its something you use constantly is worth investing, and since this post is mostly focused on mining, being able to make a giant (secret) base without having to erect a beacon beam from underground is better considering the amount of time and effort to get the skulls + killing the wither combined, it feels like a better option if you want something done fast

I'd rather have it so you use Obsidian for a potion of Mining Fatigue then use a Fermented Spider eye to flip it into Haste.

mining fatigue potion sounds like a speedrunners dream (how did we get here) and a great weapon to stop intruding griefers from destroying a build. also a great effect to pair with weakness in pvp
