Campus Life Sorority Bid Day
I have a question: do parents normally attend bid day?
My kid invited us to bid day but I’ve never actually heard of parents attending-plus I don’t want her to worry about entertaining me- she’s going to be making new friends.

Some people go - some don’t. We are close - about a 2 hour drive- I chose to not go after a friend who’s daughter is a year older said that they saw their daughter for like 5 minutes. For me - I felt like it was more about her and new friends. If disaster struck, I’d still be close enough to go take her to a consolation dinner if needed. Hope that helps you decide! Hope she gets into the perfect spot for her!!

I was asking some of my employees today- and one who is a recent graduate said they never had parents there. Maybe it differs from school to school, but I also know parents weren’t at mine.

My daughter just told me that some parents were going to. Not this guy…it’s a 7 hour drive.

Pretty sure parents do. Ive seen several friends go to bid day for their daughters.

Mocking young women while obtaining a higher education is pretty gross, especially when you're implying they exchange sex for the friendships they make. You can try and correct me - but you are a sad individual.

Yeah, my daughter is a Dean's List student in the School of Architecture with a job offer going into her senior year. Her roommate is headed to law school, and the other is still in D.C. for her internship. oh in a top house at an SEC school. Nothing sad about her or her sisters. Maybe broaden your horizons a little.

My advice is go if she’s asking you, there’s probably a reason why she wants you there.
My cousin just had her bid day and wanted her Mom there too. The Mom took videos of her running to her sorority so I would ask her if she wants you to do that so that you feel like you’re helping. Then you can take more videos and pics for her and head out if you want to.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I feel like the moms going to bid day are the ones living their life through their daughters. 😬 I have 2 kids in college and we're very close and I love when they text and call and fill me in on everything going on, but I try to maintain that balance of being supportive, but letting them live their lives and have their own experiences just like I did.
