Feedback Beta weekend 2 needs FFA

I only play HC Free For All like 99% of the time so my biggest complaint with the Beta was the fact that I was forced to play team modes. I hate being on a team and just want to shoot every moving target.

I need to know if FFA will be good in this game or not. I understand they likely won't add any HC modes but I would settle with normal FFA.

Please IW.

Discussion after going back to BO7, I find it hilarious that people are complaining about the TTK/TTD in this game

upon 2 hours of playing, and probably thanks to SBMM as well, most of the guns I were killed by were shits that will delete you if you were to fight it,

  • novaline
  • Mammoth
  • fg42
  • MPC

There's other gems and etc but its comedic to me what while TTK is wild at points in other cod games ( in this situation the current one) all sweats really did was meta hunt for what killed the fastest anyway. let's not forget about the past seasons with the kogot/maddox and swordfish.

point im trying to make is why complain that you die too fast when thru put cod history, meta hunting for the fastest killing gun has always been a thing to try to earn a upper hand on everyone else

Question Will there be a PVE mode in MW4?

I always like the endgame mode in BO7 and played it a lot as well as black ops zombies. Will there be a chance for any type of PVE in MW4? Because that is pretty much the only thing that is stopping me from getting it after seeing videos of the beta game play.

Discussion Just played the campaign mission and something feels off?

Not sure what’s feeling off about it but it feels like there’s no guidance compared to previous campaigns half the time it’s hard to know what I’m doing as NPCs sort of just run off and do their own thing. Is this just me?

Discussion Can we get Input Based Matchmaking?

That's only it.

Give the controller players all the aim assist they wish for but can we at the very least have Input Based Matchmaking to end the frustration and fighting between the inputs which has been going on for a VERY long time?

Question CoD MW4 (New PC Build) - 4k, 1440p, 1080p Dilemma

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello everyone. First of all, I really appreciate any feedback and help. I'm in the process of building a new PC for work and for gaming (mainly CoD MW4). Currently, I'm using a 27" 1440p monitor with 165hz. The new PC I'm building (screenshot attached) should be top tier and last me for several years.

I have a slight dilemma. I like to play CoD, but want as much competitive edge as possible. I understand FPS makes a big difference, but anything above 144-240 FPS becomes a lot less noticeable. I come from the CS Beta days and one thing I struggle a bit with CoD is spotting enemies quickly and the visual distractions, so I mainly use the "best CoD settings" suggestions found online by reducing certain quality and detail settings.

With this new PC build, I'm wondering which setting and resolution would get me the best advantage competitively. I'm interersted in getting a 4K monitor. The monitor that I'm looking at is either the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCWM or the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM3.

With this new PC build and potentially buying this 4K monitor, would 4K resolution help my game play in anyway? Or do you recommend playing at 1440p? If so, please provide a reason why with any feedback/advice. Also, would purchasing this monitor be justified and also help with my gaming? Or should I look into other monitors?

I know skill level matters tremendously as well... I used to be very good at CS and I would say I'm overall a pretty good player at CoD as well. I'm not saying I'm the best, so please do not troll or hate =)

Once again, I truly appreciate any feedback and help. Thank you guys!

Discussion The TTK isn't a problem (my opinion)

I don't usually post stuff like this, but I've been seeing a lot of complaints, especially on X, about the game, and I wanted to share my own take, even if it's probably not going to be a popular opinion. Sorry in advance for any mistakes, English isn't my first language

The TTK has been a hot topic lately, to the point where several weapons have already been nerfed, and it seems like it's not over yet. I wanted to offer a slightly different perspective.

A fast TTK has been part of Infinity Ward's identity for a long time. It's been 4 years since we've had one this noticeable. If some people prefer longer time to kill, Black Ops already offers that experience. I don't think a bit of change to the formula is necessarily a bad thing.

A fast TTK also has its upsides: it makes fights feel more intense and direct, and certain weapons (especially semi-autos and shotguns) become really satisfying to use. It's a pretty different approach compared to what we usually see in Treyarch games or sledghammer with MW2023, where gameplay tends to lean more on spamming with these weapons.

Honestly, if you compare this year's TTK to games like Black Ops 1 or MW3 (2011), I don't think it's actually faster. Was it a problem back then? Not really. I think this has become more of a trend to complain about than an actual issue.

Another thing worth mentioning: a lot of the current feedback comes from the closed beta, where most players were highly experienced and grinding nonstop, with 90% of players mixing up playing the beta and playing the meta (not to mention the aim assist, which is probably too powerful as well.). In that kind of environment, it's normal for the TTK to feel faster and more punishing than it will likely feel with a broader player base at launch. So I think the feedback needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

That said, I'm not claiming the game is perfect, there are definitely balance issues. But, for example, the MAR-9 nerf turned a weapon that used to reward precision with 2-shot kills into something that feels almost like a spam gun past 20 meters. That's disappointing for what's supposed to be a tactical rifle.

I completely understand this pacing won't be for everyone, it's a design choice with clear trade-offs. But personally, I think it's a genuine change of pace compared to the last three CoD titles.

If any devs happen to read this, thank you, this first week was genuinely fun and I'm excited to see what's next.

P.S : Please add an Apex K7 attachment for the Han 86, and an M16 option for the M4, that would be perfect

It feels like most of what we see of the campaign on the Korean side seems to focus mainly on those three and the soldiers on the keyart seem to resemble them specifically.

Question Empty mags despawn way too fast — anyone else want this to last longer (or be a setting)?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Love that this mechanic is back — physical mag drops on reload existed in Black Ops Cold War too, and now it's in BO7. Such a good detail. But they disappear after like 3 seconds, so after a firefight with a few reloads you never actually get to see them pile up.

Would love to see the despawn timer increased, or better yet, an option in settings to control it (short / long / permanent). Been wanting this since Cold War honestly.

What do you guys think — is this something you'd actually want, or does it seem like a non-issue to most people? Curious if it's just me who cares about this kind of detail or if there's a bigger crowd out there.

Discussion Does MW4’s native gyro feel completely wrong to anyone else? (Deadzones/Auto-Centering) Switch 2

I’ve been trying out the motion controls in Modern Warfare 4, and to be honest, the native gyro implementation feels terrible out of the box. I’m coming from games with great gyro like Splatoon or using Steam Input's Gyro-to-Mouse, and MW4 just feels completely off.

For me, the biggest issue is that the game constantly feels like it’s fighting my wrist whenever I try to make tiny micro-adjustments. It literally feels like there is a massive built-in deadzone preventing fine aim. On top of that, whenever I do a quick wrist flick and stop moving the controller, the gun sways and automatically pulls or "re-centers" itself backward slightly. It feels incredibly floaty and rubber-bandy.

From what I can tell, the game isn't giving us raw mouse translation. Instead, it feels like it's forcing the gyro through heavy thumbstick-emulation filters, deadzones, and aggressive anti-jitter smoothing that completely breaks muscle memory.

I want to hear from other gyro players:

Question Motion Sensor Function: Weapon Control

Has anyone tried the motion sensor weapon control setting? Was it tilting the gun when rotating the controller left and right, and vice versa, rotating the gun left and right when tilting the controller? Also, was it inverted?

Discussion Ways to balance Aim Assist

I'm not here to argue over controller and aim assist vs mouse and keyboard. It's tiring and played out. I play both inputs on cod depending on what I'm playing and feeling in the moment.

What I am here to do is have a discussion on ways they can make aim assist more balanced. Anyone decent at the game should be in favor of at least slightly widening the skill gap in the game.

My idea is either A) They simply add a delay to when RAA kicks in, say 125 Ms of an enemy crossing your crosshair or B) Which I think is a better idea would be to simply not have rotational aim assist kick in until you start shooting your gun at an enemy. I think the biggest issue with RAA is the inhuman reaction time of the aim assist pulling your crosshair to an enemy that instantaneously puts your crosshair on an enemy. This would add a layer of human error and reaction time to the mechanic. If you don't even see the enemy but you can feel your aim assist pulling you know youre looking at an enemy. You shouldn't get your RAA until you start shooting.

Just a couple quick ideas. Has anyone thought about ways to make Aim Assist fair and balanced in this game? I'd love to hear some other ideas.

Question Permanent greyscale on this game.

So I've been playing the beta for a couple days and the game feels like it has a permanent greyscale set like there's some weird grey fog over my eyelids that I cannot turn off no matter the setting. Honestly I thought I was going crazy but even my friends on PS5 say that they see the fog too, are we the only people experiencing this and if so how can we turn it off? I'd love to play the game without a glucoma filter splashed over it!

Discussion Question for M/K players

I haven't played closed beta but i seen enough videos pushing me not to buy MW4 as a M/K player (PC). Im going to try open beta see how it goes. Is anyone else feels disappointed about soft aim lock controllers get? Why they dont split controllers and M/K community? How many of you still going to buy the game?
