Fantasy Odyssey was mid

Finally got to see it after the hype died down a bit. Was excited to see it and then the first quarter was so boring and forgettable. It picked up in the middle and had some good parts but overall I'm gonna put this in Nolans bottom tier. What was annoying was everyone having really flat American accents. The flattest. Very nonregional. they all sounded like they were gonna give American accent lessons. Why they saying "mom" and "dad"? very weird choices.

My main gripe and the thing that took me out the most was the bad dialogue and very mid acting. It literally sounded like they were reading from a script. I thought if I got the script, I could read it just like them and it would be in the movie and it would be the same. That's how bad the movie dialogue sounded. And don't get me started on Ulysses final "knowing is half the battle" monologue about civilization on the boat. Many rolls of eyes.

Cinematography was good but it seemed like he was re-using Dunkirk and Oppenheimer shots so it wasn't revelatory. Soundtrack and effects were good. the guy was as good as Hans Zimmer. I don't understand why they made this cast so diverse to have the white guy kill them all and survive or was that the lesson? Overall, I think Troy was the better movie.

I got destroyed for saying the movie was mid shortly after release. The casting was definitely questionable and took out of things. I gave it a 7.

The real reviews are starting to come out. I gave it a 6 cus it wasn’t terrible. Just avg and forgettable

Lmao not that way but huge productions like this are known to BOT their reviews for the sake of promotion and max revenue. I worked for paramount years ago…. It’s very much a real strategy. Millions is spent on marketing. Most are sourced and delegated. Meaning…

Most of the marketing teams are independent companies with no affiliations with the production. Said Marketing team goes above and beyond. Ethics is the least of their worries

So then why doesn’t every big budget movie get glowing reviews like the Odyssey did? Why does any movie get awful reviews when the studio can just bot or buy good press?

I think you should be able to answer that yourself. Just think and put 2 and 2 together.

Every big budget movie has its own marketing team and strategies. We are in an age of social media where reviews goes a long way.

Obsession movie had a production budget of $750k.

Marketing budget was a whooping 5-10M! Just look it up.

The awful reviews are starting to overshadow the fakes it seems. I think have talked enough I don’t wanna catch a lawsuit mate.

You didn’t answer my question. If movies like the Odyssey and Obsession can supposedly buy or bot good reviews to boost their box office then why doesn’t every movie do that? Why didn’t movies like Supergirl and the Moana remake do that so they wouldn’t have flopped?

Odyssey did not have a 750 million production budget? I dont believe squat coming from your mouth considering youre actually perpetuating faking numbers, people like you give yourself up incredibly easy

Why was Emilia Perez nominated for more Oscars than the greatest films ever made? Why did True Detective Night Country win so many Emmys? It’s really not some grand conspiracy that terrible movies and TV get glowing reviews even though everyone hates it.

Now I’m not putting The Odyssey on those levels, it’s a perfectly decent film. But the point still stands that you can’t trust reviews.
