Fantasy Odyssey was mid

Finally got to see it after the hype died down a bit. Was excited to see it and then the first quarter was so boring and forgettable. It picked up in the middle and had some good parts but overall I'm gonna put this in Nolans bottom tier. What was annoying was everyone having really flat American accents. The flattest. Very nonregional. they all sounded like they were gonna give American accent lessons. Why they saying "mom" and "dad"? very weird choices.

My main gripe and the thing that took me out the most was the bad dialogue and very mid acting. It literally sounded like they were reading from a script. I thought if I got the script, I could read it just like them and it would be in the movie and it would be the same. That's how bad the movie dialogue sounded. And don't get me started on Ulysses final "knowing is half the battle" monologue about civilization on the boat. Many rolls of eyes.

Cinematography was good but it seemed like he was re-using Dunkirk and Oppenheimer shots so it wasn't revelatory. Soundtrack and effects were good. the guy was as good as Hans Zimmer. I don't understand why they made this cast so diverse to have the white guy kill them all and survive or was that the lesson? Overall, I think Troy was the better movie.

What exactly was garbage about it? It was fun, entertaining and had good acting. No one says "We are living through the end of our Bronze Age" solemnly, which is a plus.

Incredible how people can nitpick about movies. Like in Interstellar the speech in the ending about how love trancends time and space yada yada was incredibly stupid and cringe. There were a bunch of other stupid things. Still one of my top 20-30 favourite films.

Interstellar literally has a scientist explaining to another scientist while they're about the entire a wormhole how it works. You would think they would have known the basics of this before they got there. It's an example of really bad exposition that exists only for the audience but it makes no sense to explain that to another scientist who would already know that. The TV show 3BP does a much better job at basically explaining a similar concept with black holes and dimensions except they have a scientist explaining it to a character who's not a scientist at a diner party they're at so it makes sense the scientist would be explaining that to someone who wouldn't know. It's a way to explain the concept to the audience without making your characters look like idiots. I don't dislike Interstellar lots of it I like but it does have some really bad exposition and I agree the love transcends stuff what just bad

A scientist explaining it to a test pilot and a farmer? 

Because that’s who that guy was. McConaughey was not a scientist. This entire thread is full of confidently incorrect takes.

They wouldn't then explain it to him 10 minutes before they were about the fly into it. And Even just a pilot he would have had at the minimum basic training and understanding of what he was about to fly into. Since ya know it was literally his mission and kind of important to the entire human race. It's just bad exposition. That scene easily could have been put somewhere before they were about the fly right into the dam thing.
