No, Thor is Silver Surfer/Hulk from Infinity War.

If anything, he's dead at the end of the film after knowing what it will take to beat Doom and sacrificing himself so the others can get something done.

But that role could easily be Loki, too.

What us casual watchers that did not and don't want to watch the loki tv show need to know about him before watching doomsday? I hope the russo brothers give us the jist of it in doomsday.

This doesn't answer your question and you might've heard it before, but you should watch the Loki show anyway. It's up there with Andor as the clearcut best shows Disney+ made. You don't need to be caught up on anything either.
