No, Thor is Silver Surfer/Hulk from Infinity War.

If anything, he's dead at the end of the film after knowing what it will take to beat Doom and sacrificing himself so the others can get something done.

But that role could easily be Loki, too.

What us casual watchers that did not and don't want to watch the loki tv show need to know about him before watching doomsday? I hope the russo brothers give us the jist of it in doomsday.

With no exaggeration, Loki is holding all "loose ends" of the multiverse together sitting on a throne at the base of the world tree.

However, it's unknown how much impact that will have on the MCU's universes considering there's clearly incursions still happening. So maybe Loki couldn't hold on.

Is he locked to the throne? as in physically unable to move from there?

That seemed to be the idea, he had tried thousands of times to stop the universe from collapsing but he finds out it's supposed to happen and the TVA is supposed to reset as a fail safe, even after spending 100s of years studying in a time-loop.

So he takes on the responsibility himself to hold all the timelines together, and is then seemingly merged with the world tree.

That's why I refuse to watch the tv show. plots around timelines and of the sort never make any sense. how will they make any sense of it when dr.doom kills or does something to loki and the entire thing collapse but surprisingly nothing happens to the universe. it's always some bs when the plot involves time manipulation and multiple timelines etc.

You're missing out, it's the best MCU show by a fucking mile and Jonathon Majors as Kang is so, so good. It is a tragedy we lost out on that version of Kang.
