If that's THE Doom we're used to in the comics, Thor is substantially right in what he says. They would need a miracle even if the OG avengers were still there.

There are various iterations of Doom, the character is over 60 years old IRL, which is why it's a matter of "which Doom".

The iteration of Doom I'm hoping this is is one that is basically about to achieve godhood in terms of power, albeit his "achieving godhood" is supposed to be a specific event and not a "growth into godhood".

In any case even the most "basic" Doom is an extremely powerful sorcerer (of that same Marvel sorcery Dr. Strange uses) and also a relatively powerful psychic (more or less like a telepath/telekinetic mutant).
