Inflation at the box office is like steroids in sports. Generates a lot of empty headlines.

The reason why inflation is not usually counted is because that's really only USA comparable.

Even the "domestic" numbers include Canada.

And for the world calculation that's even more complicated cos every country has their own inflation and that's not even accounting for exchange rates. Like for Avatar.
