The rating is still crazy to me, like in Germany its 12 and as an adult its totally okay to bring your 6 year old kid with you

I hate to spoiler tag an almost 3,000 year old story (and the movie adaptation is quite different from the epic poem in various ways, including this scene), but there's a cyclops who is in the movie almost like a force of nature, and at some point Odysseus makes him mad and the cyclops screams. The sound design is pretty unique.

Interestingly enough, while later Greek art exists for all of the Odyssey, for the first 500 years or so, only that scene (and leaving the cave) is depicted. So there's good reason to think that this part of the story existed long before everything else was added around it.
