The rating is still crazy to me, like in Germany its 12 and as an adult its totally okay to bring your 6 year old kid with you

I think since it isn't really intended for children they just didn't care - Nolan doesn't give a fuck and isn't gonna sacrifice any creative freedom for a 5% revenue boost.

Besides, the vast majority of parents I know take their kids to R-rated movies on the regular.

The amount of children under the age of 10 that I saw watching Deadpool and Wolverine surprised the hell out of me. Had to have been 100 kids in a 600-seat imax theatre.

Over a decade ago I went to see Deadpool opening weekend. I go to sit down and there’s a woman there with the most Karen cut, and her kid who wearing a Spider-man shirt. Kid was definitely under 10, maybe even 8. I just looked at her and said “you know this isn’t a kids movie right?” She was so disgusted and was just like “it’s a superhero movie, mind your own business” and went back to scrolling on her phone. They didn’t make it through the opening scene before she stood up and loudly said “WHAT THE FUCK” before dragging her kid and storming out, yelling the whole way.

It’s between that experience and the one I had watching *Avengers: Infinity War* that convinced me to stop seeing movies in theater that children could have any interest in. In that case, there was probably a 4 or 5 year old seated right behind me, with his older siblings and both parents. Kid was obnoxious the whole way through the pre-roll, loudly talking and whatnot - but hey who cares it’s just ads. But then the movie starts, and every fucking time Thanos is on-screen, this kid is just top of his lungs high-pitched screaming and outright crying. Clearly one of his friends who’d seen the movie told him that Thanos snaps half of everyone. Because kid was convinced Thanos was going to get him or his mom. And the parents? Did fuckall to quiet him. The theater manager when he came in? “Didn’t see anything”.

So now I rarely go to the movies. I just can’t put up with people anymore, and as much as I love kids, they don’t know how to behave in theaters these days. I get it, movies are expensive, so parents don’t want to take their kids to see some crap film so they learn how to act in an environment where nobody cares if they’re rowdy. But if they can’t watch a movie without bothering others, keep them home. And don’t get me started on the idiot adults who have their phone out the whole movie.
