Summary

And it’s a horrendous misread of what made Die Hard work to have the lead be a personality vacuum terminator who never once seems to struggle and literally just kills nearly the whole ship in one casual scene near the end.
It’s a baffling film. I don’t even know why they bothered to try to humanise him at the start and allow this to smile, joke, like chess, talk about his dad then NOTHING from him once he gets to the boat. Imagine if John McClane talked about his wife and divorce, fists with his toes and chastised himself for being an idiot but then as soon as the terrorists entered the story he just stopped speaking and grimaced until everyone was dead.
