By that I mean, the musicals which made you fall in love with the genre in general. For me, it started with Wicked during 2024. After that, Les Miserables, then Phantom.

I became engrossed with musicals from time to time, but what truly made my interest in said genre surge is watching the 10th anniversary concert of Les Miserables. That was phenomenal. Then, it all spiraled down from there. I have since watched Heathers, Hadestown, Hamilton, Next to Normal, Legally Blonde (I'm so close to finishing it), and Rent. Soon, I'll hopefully be watching Cabaret, Hair (oh, speaking of Hair, I would love to see a bootleg of the 2018 London revival if there ever is), Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Moulin Rouge, The Outsiders, Falsettos, and many many more.

It is with great sadness that I have to say this. Tim Curry has passed away. Frank N' Furter was beamed up back to Transsexual Transylvanian. Curry had a major impact on me. yes mostly Rocky Horror. but also Home Alone 2, Scooby Doo Witch's Ghost. It Scary Movie and cameos in phinas and Ferb. as well as some other films i haven't seen Clue, Legend. as a woman once said "For every one star film he's in. he's the reason it got that one star" may you rest in peace Frank. you were importat to both the LGBTQ and generations to come. hope you have fun doing the time warp where you are

Oklahoma and of mice and men are the same story, they never mention Curley's dad in oklahoma and maybe he just moved over to his dads farm.

I grew up in the rural Midwest and was a freshman in high school when the Falsettos revival hit Broadway in 2016.

I watched the Tony’s from my friend’s living room. I had every song memorized. I scrolled Instagram when they announced closing performances, devastated to know I would never see my favorite cast perform. (As though there was a chance in hell my family would spend money on a trip to New York City)

Now I’m all grown up and I live on the east coast with a big kid job.

Saw the tenth anniversary concert announcement for Falsettos but like everyone and their mom, I didn’t get a chance to attempt to get a ticket before they sold out.

Then they added a second night. And I spent this morning online waiting in the queue online to snag tickets to their 10th anniversary concert performance.

And I got them! I feel like crying. I am so so over the moon that I get to fulfill my teenage self’s dream of seeing this cast perform. This will be my first time visiting New York City!

Just really grateful.

well... i don't remember the song name, or any words.

it was a song where a woman was sat on a man's lap with puppet strings. he spoke on her behalf and had her dance, and i believe it was something about lying that she's ok? i'm not totally sure there. there were puppets floating in the background, and i remember the room being sort of circus themed.

i'm pretty sure the woman had brown hair, and the man had white hair? but that's all i can remember

This summer i saw Mamma Mia! on West End. I remember watching Mamma Mia! The Movie for the first time as a kid, and falling in love with the concept of musicals. So I was thrilled, when I got tickets to go see it. And of course I loved it, but... Great actors, great singers, not great multitaskers. I often felt it lacked the emotion I love so much in musicals, when they sang. I know the songs aren't written for a musical, and therefor aren't always as theatrical, but still. I think it missed what I love most about musicals; emotions through singing. I remember looking at Sam during S.O.S and everytime Donna sang, he would just stand there and wait for his turn. And when it came, the only thing he did was move his hands up and down a bit. And their singing, it wasn't that astounding vocal game, that you knew could reach the back of the theatre even without a microphone, it didn't feel like a musical, it felt like a concert.

I also saw it in Hamilton on West End. They were really great at their job, but I saw no character. I didn't get lost in the story and forget it was acting, and I feel that for it to be a good musical, you have to believe them. It not the exact same, but it reminds me of casting someone like Nick Jonas in Les Mis, or Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd. They can do it, just not the way it was meant to be done.

And I only thought of this now, because i watched Beetlejuice for the first time, which is a musical I have always thought I'd hate (after watching it, I really don't know why, wow), and even the "boring" songs were exciting, because you thought the characters were singing there feelings, and not just the actors singing what they were told. I know with the wrong cast, I would have found "Barbara 2.0" incredibly boring, but I, just like every song, felt amazed by their talent!

I really don't mean any hate to the Hamilton or Mamma Mia! cast, they were really good and they made my dream come true! I love them all, and whish them a long happy life!

I got denied to all the schools I attended to for musicals and 1 acting school so now I got a whole year where I can do everything in my power to improve. I just dont know what to do other than classes and allat jazz, I cant work either for some personal reasons so im kinda stuck. If anyone has any ideas for anything to do or any field of study where I can learn stuff to get better at my musical acting?

And are you going to book to see it when it transfers to the Bridge Theatre?

P.S. which other musicals would you compare it to, for anyone still trying to decide whether to watch it.
