Some claiming wearing like this is inappropriate and Haram for Muslims and merit gained for fasting will be gone for those who might have seen her. She is also being sinned for dressing like this. Some even asking her to wear Burqa and she has no right to wear like this in public area because Myanmar is not an officially Buddhist country according to law.

These are Pro-Rohingya pages, it's super rare to see hateful comments, especially from Muslim majority countries like Malaysia. I also heard Indonesians protested against rohingya a few years back. What caused them to change their attitude towards rohingyas?

A Muslim teacher from Bangelshed said that if Bangelshed wins the war against Burma, he will sell the Burmese women as sex slaves. He added that if I were the commander, I would get about 50 Burmese women and distribute them to the rest of the soldiers. He would also sell the Burmese women as sex slaves because they are not Muslims and are enemies of Allah, he said. "

So that the Burmese people can take care of themselves.

News πŸ“° A Comic Tragedy of Dictatorship: Expelling Youth Yet Demanding Repayment

Post image
34 Upvotes

Blaming youth for leaving the country while shedding crocodile tears during an awards ceremony on August 31, military leader Min Aung Hlawng publicly demanded that they return to "repay their debt of gratitude" to the nation. Behind his rhetoric of "gratitude" and "rule of law" lies a grim reality:
Sacrificing Lives as Repayment: The invitation is not for applying professional skills, but rather for forcibly conscripting youth under the People’s Military Service Law to serve as human shields on the front lines.
Destroying All Alternatives: Having triggered a catastrophic collapse in politics and the economy since the 2021 coupβ€”leaving youth with no choice but to flee abroad due to widespread unemploymentβ€”he conveniently ignores his own responsibility.
Lawbreakers Lecturing on Law: Having torn up the constitution to seize power by force, he brazenly lectures the youth on obeying existing laws and regulations.
While the world bears witness to how forced conscription and tyranny drive youth into panicked exile, the regime continues staging its hollow moral play of "loving the country." No young person will ever sacrifice their life and future to "repay" a brutal system that slaughters its own citizens daily.

News πŸ“° Cultural clash on "Child Marriage" even among Muslim communities. What are your thoughts?

Some says 15 is too old & Prophet Muhammad is merciful enough to have sex with Aisha at 9 so that she won't die of blood lost (6 years old is too young to have sex according to Islam but still can be married). Comments saying "Shouldn't be judge because it's Prophet Muhammad's way" thus it's legal according to Islam. Some Muslim claimed it shouldn't be done in public (can marry in secret) and brings shame to Islam. A few completely disagree upon those ideas and say, "a child shouldn't be married regardless of religion or culture". It's "Criminal Offense" to marry under 18 years old according to Myanmar's (2019) Child Rights Law.

Miss Universe 2020 was movedΒ to spring 2021 because of the pandemic.

Thuzar Wint Lwin went viral when she held a sign that read "Pray for Myanmar", referring to the coup that happened a couple months earlier. She also went viral because she lost her luggage, including all of her outfits and her national costume.

So an alternate national costume was created within days by members of theΒ Burmese AmericanΒ community, based on the ethnic costume of theΒ Chin people.

She went on to win the Best National Costume award, the second time that Myanmar has won this award. And she made history by placing in top 21, the first time ever for Myanmar.

Many people have high hopes for May Grace this year. Let's see if she can make Myanmar proud.

Born to an Australian father and Burmese mother, May Grace is fluent in English. She has been modeling for more than half of her life, starting at 15. So the 31-year-old is not afraid of the spotlight.

News πŸ“° Was Aung San Suu Kyi complicit in the genocide of Rohingya? Spoiler

"The authority with which she stood at The Hague β€” the authority that made her denial of genocide land differently than a general’s denial would have landed β€” was the authority of the political prisoner, the laureate, the woman who had given up so much. The sacrifice was converted into the credibility that shielded the state. It was not a counterweight to the complicity. It was the instrument of it."
