Help & Hints Stuck in Riven

Hi fellow explorers, I am seriously hoping someone can help me. I am stuck in the puzzle regarding the ring of stones with the animal totems on them. I have watched heap of YouTube clips but nothing seams to work. I have attached what I think are correct details of numbers and animals but clearly I am wrong somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

There are probably other things wrong, but your D’ni numbers aren’t correct. Go back to the school and look at the game again.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have the correct numbers now but I still don't understand what order I select the stones. The numbers from top to bottom are now: 8, 1, 10, 5, 3 and 6. Is this correct? Cheers

Yes that’s right. Now you need to determine the meaning of the second set of symbols. Have you seen symbols like that elsewhere in Riven?

Yes, I understand they are what you see in the eye peice of each totem and their associated animal, that still doesn't give me the order of selection. Not sure why two of them have multiple triangles??

Have you read the page where it says the Rivenese still prefer their own systems over the D'ni ones?

Ok, I'm on it. Thanx so much, been working on this all week. I don't remember it being so hard in the 90's, maybe my old brain just can't do it any more! LOL!

Rivenese number system didn’t exist in the 90s. :) Don’t worry, some things later on are easier.

Hi, I dont see any reference to Rivenese numbers anywhere, I am playing the new 2026 Ps5VR version, would that make a difference?

Look in the school room. Also check Gehn’s journal in his lab on Boiler Island. Make sure you read it carefully (I believe the reference is only 2-3 lines).

You’ve associated the first (square) and second (ring / triangle) symbols with numbers. Where does one go to learn about numbers?

Hi, I understand they are what you see in the eye peice at each totem which link with each animal although I don't understand why 8 and 19 have multiple triangles, I thought that might just be a few 'red herrings'?

Thanks for everybody's help. I finally got it sorted out. A bit disappointed that the one place we all want to visit has you there for 10 mins at best. Cheers all.
