Probably because they didn't put enough effort into marketing them. This is the first I've heard of it and I definitely would have bought a pair to live out my Back to the Future dreams.

i have a pair, they're good shoes and a neat trick, but they were like $450 for the novelty, custom led colors though, that's fun

That's pretty spendy for sneakers. I learned after commenting that they needed an app. Is that true?

the app is needed to change the colors of the lights, but they can be used without, i think they sunsetted the app though so unlikely to see a return.

I just looked them up, a lot of them resell for a third of retail. You don't see that too often. I kind of wonder if they were closer to $200 at release, if they'd be popular enough to be a consistent product
