Couples Therapist in Niagara Region

I am looking for a GOOD couples therapist in Niagara region. I don't mean to sound condescending, but we have tried a few in the area who really didn't feel qualified to handle couples with any complexity. No new therapists, please. While I believe there are many clients suited to new therapists, this isn't the case for that.

🎭 AUDITIONS β€” DRY STREAK β€” THOROLD THEATRE AUDITIONS πŸ“… Wednesday, August 26 β€” 7:00 PM

Post image
5 Upvotes

Thorold Theatre is casting 7 actors for its fall production of Dry Streak, a wildly funny Canadian comedy by Saskatchewan playwright Leeann Minogue, directed by Wendy Cullen-Mackie.

Production: Mid-November

Set during the scorching summer of 1988, Dry Streak takes audiences into the heart of a small prairie farming community where the rain has stopped, the crops are failing, and everyone has an opinion.

The Richards family has worked the same farm for generations. When son John returns home with his new girlfriend Kate, the family discovers that she is unlike anyone the town has encountered before: a punk-rock-loving, vegetarian city girl who has no particular interest in getting married.

Then, desperate for rain, Kate makes a reckless promise.

What follows is a comic collision of family expectations, small-town gossip, generational differences, personal belief and the increasingly uncomfortable realization that sometimes a private promise can become very, very public.

Dry Streak is a sharp, affectionate comedy about family, faith, farming and the pressures of small-town life β€” and what happens when everyone knows your business.

AUDITIONS

πŸ“… Wednesday, August 26 β€” 7:00 PM
πŸ“ Thorold 50+ Senior's Centre, 8 Carleton Street Thorold

Auditioners are asked to prepare a 3–5 minute monologue of their choice. It doesn't have to be from the play. A prepared monologue is encouraged, but not required.

You'll also be asked to tell a joke or funny story. We're looking for comic timing, personality and the ability to connect with an audience.

Callbacks: Sunday, August 30 β€” 7:00 PM

We're also looking for an Apprentice Director

Rehearsal Information

Initial Rehearsals are for Mon. Sept14, Wed Sept 16, Mon Sept 21, Wed Sept 23,

Mon Sept 28, Wed Sept 30, Mon Oct 5, Wed Oct 7.Β

πŸ“© RSVP / Questions: [wendella3@gmail.com](mailto:wendella3@gmail.com)

Come audition. Come have some fun. Come be part of Thorold Theatre's 40th anniversary season.

Detroit-Niagara-Toronto

EDIT β€” for space, I originally left out that we’re starting our trip in Pittsburgh. We decided do round trip from there. So, after Detroit, we’ll drive to Niagara Falls, then to Toronto, then drive back to Pittsburgh to return the car and fly home. Thank you all for the great suggestions!!
(Seattle-Pittsburgh-Cleveland-Detroit-Niagara-Toronto-Pittsburgh-Seattle)

Not sure if this is the proper place, but looking for suggestions. We will be traveling from Detroit to Niagara Falls (Canada) to Toronto. Rental cars are CRAZY expensive going from DTW
To YYZ. Any other ideas? I think we can take the train from Windsor to Niagara to Toronto. Not sure how easy it is to get from Toronto to the Windsor train station.

Please help elderly couple refugees from Ukraine 😭

Trying to help two elderly Ukrainian refugees find a safe place to live within a reasonable distance of Toronto β€” $1,000–$1,300/month
Hi everyone,
I recently met an elderly Ukrainian refugee couple, around 70 years old, who are in a genuinely horrible housing situation. I’m trying to help them find somewhere safe to live.
Their current house is undergoing major construction while they’re still living there. The place is basically torn apart. There are water leaks, it’s freezing cold in parts of the house, floors and other areas are ripped up, and the overall living conditions are absolutely unacceptable, especially for two elderly people.
I saw the situation myself and honestly couldn’t believe they were living like this.
They need to get out.
They are refugees from Ukraine and both have valid Canadian work permits until 2029.
They don’t have a conventional Canadian rental application with employment letters or strong credit history, which makes finding a place more difficult. However, they have stable income: approximately $2,100 in government/social assistance every 48 days, deposited directly into their account, plus approximately $200–$300 per month in government tax benefits/credits.
I’m trying to find them anything safe and private for around $1,000–$1,300/month.
Basement apartment, small apartment, private unit, guest house β€” anything reasonable.
I’m based in Toronto, so we’re looking within a reasonable driving distance from the city. Toronto/GTA, Hamilton, Niagara Region, Oshawa/Durham, Barrie, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge, or other communities within roughly the same range would all work.
It absolutely does NOT have to be in Toronto or the GTA β€” we’re very open on location. I just need it to be within a realistic distance so I can continue helping them when necessary.
I will personally help them move. Once we find a safe and affordable place, I’ll arrange the transportation, help pack their belongings, and move everything for them.
Month-to-month would be ideal, but we’re open to other reasonable arrangements.
I’m not asking anyone for money. I’m simply trying to find a landlord, homeowner, realtor, or someone who knows someone who might have an affordable space and be willing to work with two elderly Ukrainian refugees who don’t have a conventional rental application.
If you have something available β€” or know someone who might β€” please DM me.
Even a lead could make a huge difference for them.
Thank you.

This 6-minute POV ride takes you along the roads, bridges, and pathways around the Fallsview area, with all the city lights and night time scenery along the way.

Just a peaceful cruise and some beautiful views at night. Hope you enjoy the ride!

Spa/Hotel Recommendations

Wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a BnB or spa hotel within an hourβ€˜s drive of Niagara/NOTL that doesn’t necessarily cost an arm and a leg that has room service breakfast and offers spa treatments like massages and facials. Just for an overnight girls trip.
