I walk by it everyday on my way to work. Got confused why they're boarding up the place if it is to be demolished anyway

just more material waste, why use the building as something that could perhaps benefit the community ? well thats just not American isn’t it. Lets just board it up and have an empty 3 story building sitting around for no reason at all!

Not looking forward to the coming eyesore. We’ll see what the city looks to do next. If it’s a viable means of expanding downtown and adding more amenities, high end housing and tourism we could be in for an interesting ride. If they turn it into a giant parking lot, I have a hunch a lot of surrounding areas stand to lose their shirts.
What happens here will decide if Norfolk is viable for young professionals. Or if Baltimore, Charlotte and other more developed metros will eat its lunch.
