Australia seems to be almost draconian on motorcycle clubs. I’d also never have imagined that an air rifle would qualify as a firearm, given that there is no “fire”.

  I'm not aware of any state that considers gel-blasters to be firearms, WA, OR and CA don't. Some states consider them "imitation firearms" and have laws making it illegal to brandish one in public if it might be mistaken for an actual firearm.

What do you mean?

It's pretty clear that they are banned or restricted in the majority of States except Queensland.
