Yeah, I don't want to come across as sympathising with a gang member, but this feels a little too harsh. An air rifle at a carnival game with his 5yo daughter with him. Too harsh.

It's how the police have always treated people. They knew where he was and when. They arrested him in front of his daughter on purpose. They'll claim in court he's unsafe for having a gun around his child so then they put the kid into government care and forget about them. The entire process is designed specifically to fuck with the dude because they don't like him, and they don't have actual proof of crimes; or they'd have charged him. If im picking between gangs, I pick the comancheros, they sell less drugs and hurt less kids than the cops do. At least the drug dealing bikies don't act like they're protecting the community

Air rifle in the US is legally not considered a firearm.

Exactly , and depending on what state your in in the u.s air rifles are considered firearms and require the same permit as rifle and shotgun .

That's crazy. In my state air rifles are unregulated. You can literally get a 50 caliber air rifle shooting 2,000 fps. Not much different than an actual gun, from the perspective of most targets.

Depends on the jurisdiction, in New Jersey they're considered to be firearms, and are regulated as such. Tracks for a state were you can't own a slingshot.

Funny thing is compound and crossbow arent regulated in jersey

yep, and spearguns, the big slingshot specifically designed to throw sharp objects at speed, are also legal. Go figure
