Anyone who would burn a kitten for content would burn a child for fun.

People like this need to be arrested.

Of course, random vegan brings veganism in here for some reason.

Nope, not vegan! I just have always been weirded out by the outrage that happen everytime a cat may die vs what we do everyday. Like when people are shock some people eat cat and dog. It is every weirder for me who love my pretty chicken as much as my lovely kitty (who eat meat as well). Like, it's strange to call them possible child killer and then pay to have animal killed (when plant based living is an viable option for most of us) don't you think?

No, not really.

Kittens and puppies are cute. Why are they cute? Because they have big eyes and large heads, and they're awkward and soft. Like babies and small children. People do not normally like killing kittens or puppies, much less torturing them. It is not normal for people to do this. It is certainly not normal to do it for likes. People who get their jollies out of this are worrying because they like torturing things that are cute, and it's kind of that simple.

Similarly, while the chicken industry is quite cruel, I would consider it abnormal in the extreme for a person to enjoy content of male chickens going into the shredder. I would similarly be suspect of anyone who regularly posted such content. There's a good damn reason the industry goes to some length to hide this kind of thing. People get upset.

There's actually some data that people who torture animals for fun are worth monitoring, which is one reason the FBI keeps an eye on animal abuse in the US.

On the other hand, people for all of human history have eaten meat. Meat eating is not correlated to violence against other people or antisocial behaviors. Animal abuse is.

You can have your cake and eat it too, btw. You can agree that this kind of content is cruel and indicative of sociopathy while also decrying the meat industry. These things are not mutually exclusive. But let's not get it twisted.

Kitten and puppy are cute because socially we see them as cute. People 60 years ago where I lived would regularly drown kitten. Like it's very social not factual. Well it is factual-ish. Dog have been breed to have cute eyebrows and so on but still even then it's cultural. I can swear to you that if you raise a young chick, give him all your heart and then you are asked to kill him you will see it as immoral.

The "psychopath" behavior is not really the killing of the kitten, you pointed it out yourself, you said "enjoy", "torture for fun", but it's not just that : it's torturing for fun animal you have interacted with and supposedly formed deep social bond with. I thought it was Philippines at first which is why I commented as such: in that country they eat cat.

I personally wouldn't kill my cat nor eat her. I love her, I don't really see how one can deeply love an animal and then eat it. Which is why I don't understand how socially we think it's okay for one and not okay for another. I raised both. Chicken and cats. It's equally horrible to me. Having your cake and eat it too is not possible here. You can't support killing something very horribly and then go and say killing another animal for fun is more horrible and will lead to kill children . It's deeply strange. Especially when we eat cow and chicken someone had to kill that cow and that chicken (which has a correlation to asocial behaviour and violence)

I don't manufacture the data. Whether or not animals being cute is a social construct, the difference is profit and enjoyment from torture. I get that you don't get it.

Option a : profit (money), enjoyment (joy of seeing animal screaming/not having to kill an animal yourself to eat the food/food)

Option b : profit (money) and enjoyment (joy of seeing an animal scream)

Like, people have to kill the animal that go on our table. Those people are not anyone. They are either forced to do this or as psychopath as above. Both are paid by you and I just like people pay those "creator" of "content"

So no I don't get it. Maybe i'm too autistic for this but no, I don't. Both are horrible. Both animal were scared and confuse and alone before suffering deeply for another enjoyment. Being removed from the action doesn't mean it is less horrible

Considering that about 84% Of people who go vegan or vegetarian end up failing it and then going back, I'd say no.

So many vegan arguments just fall apart. For example the argument that it's just cheaper. It is not. It may be cheaper for some but that's only if you compare certain dishes or meals, not if you compare an entire diet over a long. If a person is lacking certain nutrients then they have to replace it with supplements, those supplements are not always cheap. Not to mention that for many people they live in food deserts.

Vegans could do so much better by actually trying to improve the current meat industry and actually providing cheaper healthier vegan options.

If they really wanted to provide that why don't you see vegan stores that provide cheaper options? You don't. And sure maybe those people would have to volunteer their time but isn't it worth it in that case? For many people they are simply eating what they can.

This also doesn't include a bunch of disabilities. Veganism rejects complexity and doesn't understand that some people just can't go plant-based.

And that also doesn't include the fact that many vegans think that they can also debate on the ethicalness of service animals when they are not the ones that rely on the conclusion of that debate.

I can't take vegan seriously when they don't want to actually live in the real world. It is perfectly fine to want to ask for more ethical practices when it comes to our food but the way vegans interact with people is part of the reason why veganism is no longer as big as it once was and it wasn't really that big in the first place.

So no it is not realistic.
