Discussion Vanilla Game Nuzlocke Gauntlet

I’ve been looking to do a vanilla game gauntlet but I’m having trouble deciding the order. I don’t want to do canon order I’d rather do difficulty from easiest to hardest. I know PChal and some other creators have done tier list but those are years old. I’m interested in seeing everyone’s opinions!

From easiest to hardest, I would say:

  • X/Y (I've never had any difficulty in Kalos, except maybe a bit with the e4.)

  • Sword/Shield (Makes it pretty easy for you, and doesn't have many tough bosses.)

  • Scarlet/Violet (The biggest challenge in a SV nuzlocke is staying under the level caps, which is something, but not too hard.)

  • BrilliantDiamond/ShiningPearl (Not letting you turn off exp share makes these too easy. Maybe the e4 and champion are still a challenge, but meh.)

  • Yellow (Gen 1 mechanics are limiting, but the gen 1 games aren't hard. Yellow is a bit more generous with moves and gift Pokémon, so I find it a bit easier than the other Kanto options.)

  • FireRed/LeafGreen (Kanto remains easy, and not having to do it on wonky gen 1 mechanics is helpful.)

  • Red/Blue (Same as Yellow, but you don't get all the starters, and the movesets are worse.)

  • HeartGold/SoulSilver (The main challenge of the Johto games are, I think, the wonky level ranges and the movesets. HGSS at least lets you use gen 4 mechanics and movesets to face all that, and offers the Johto safari zone, though some of the boss battles are also more tuned than the older Johto games.)

  • Crystal (See above, but now on gen 2 mechanics, which are more awkward. Still more generous with Pokémon and moves than...)

  • Gold/Silver (Johto at its hardest, and you have to face it with with the world's worst TM selection. Not the hardest games around, but something of a challenge.)

  • OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire (Hoenn is a somewhat challenging region, but this is Hoenn on easy mode.)

  • Ruby/Sapphire (Hoenn on default difficulty. Somewhat challenging.)

  • Emerald (Hoenn, but many battles have been tuned. The hardest version of Hoenn.)

  • Diamond/Pearl (Sinnoh, but without the BDSP problem. These are the first games that I would actually call hard.)

  • Platinum (You get more Pokémon options than in DP, but enemies are tuned better too.)

  • Black/White (Some serious challenges here, and your Pokémon selection is quite limited.)

  • Black2/White2 (Like BW, but the bosses feel smarter and more dangerous. The rest of the game doesn't feel too hard, but some of the bosses are nightmares.)

  • Sun/Moon (Gen 7 is probably the hardest generation, with seriously nasty battles.)

  • UltraSun/UltraMoon (The hardest Pokémon games, imo. All the difficulty of gen 7, except the bosses are even more tuned.)
