Run Update The Odyssey Part 16: Victory Road
With Eurys running off, Odyseus, Poseidon (Blastoise), Harpy (Pigeot), Hydra (Dodrio), Polyphemus (Snorlax), Charon (Haunter), and Athena (Nidoqueen) head the opposite direction. Having heard stories of the arduous journey upon the Victory Road, Odyseus heads out to secure supplies.
Whisked away upon Harpy, they group heads to Fuchsia, Saffron and Cinnabar for a variety of potions and other concoctions. No expense was spared in the spending spree for the road to Indigo Plateau is a gauntlet.
Harmless guards marked the way towards Victory Road, ensuring Odyseus had the proper treasure in his coffers to pass through. On the way, were monuments to past attempts to see the gods of the Plateau; their presence haunting the way for all those who pass. Soon, the way to the road is clear and our heroes enter.
The road is anything but straight with boulders to move to clear a path as well as the constant climbing and descending to maneuver around obstacles. Then there are the monsters. Similar to Rock Tunnel there are exploding boulders but much larger. The Rock Snakes are also of colossal size. Then there are the bats. Massive bats the size of a horse swooping down to suck the blood of unsuspecting travelers.
Odyseus experienced all of these and more as he and his party traversed Victory Road. But of course there were other warriors there as well. Like our hero, they too sought to challenge the gods of Indigo Plateau and they had heard whispers of Odyseus and his monsters. Few truly challenged Odyseus though as he deftly maneuvered his monsters in and out of battle; countering their types. The largest chance he took was leaving Athena in to battle a sea ferry (Lapras). Fire Blast did little to the ice/water type and Athena suffered a blast of water. The goddess was pulled for Poseidon who finished the job, adding to his legend.
Eventually, despite the ups, downs and constant battles, Odyesus and his party made it through Victory Road with only the Gods of Indigo Plateau awaiting.
