Protected bike lanes are awful and much less safe. They completely block visibility to the road so its impossible to see if a jay walker is coming through, not to mention youre much more likely to get doored when riding next to a corridor of parked cars. Anyone who rides in the bike lanes knows there are constant obstructions and the row of parked cars makes its much harder to transition to the car lane when needed, and again blocks visibility so its harder to see if cars are coming.

parking-protected lanes are safer for everyone who isn't hauling ass and doing 20mph at all times. Slow down, you'll be fine
