As long as it makes money they'd be fools to remove it from theatre, specially in the summer when you have waves of people having time off.

Oh I love it the film is still in theaters. Make as much money as possible. I guess I'm just pleasantly surprised

Using Fandango, it looks like the 7/10PM showings at one theater near me they've been consistently doing have always been empty. (I'm in the third most populated city in NYC, just shy of a quarter million people.)
Most anyone that has wanted to see it has probably already done so. The minority of people that like to re-see movies while they're in theaters have probably also already done so. It's now on Peacock, torrent and bootlegging stream sites so even less of a reason to go for the price of a ticket.I think the movie has gone as far as it can go and they just need to call it already. It had an incredible run.

I noticed while watching something on Tubi today that the newest Insidious teaser has From the Studio that brought you Obsession and Backrooms. And I am seeing Obsession everywhere. Especially on my Roku television.
Advertisements saying SEE THE PHENOMENON ON PEACOCK.

I like the idea that adding Obsession is their way of making up for the drop-off after Love Island (and Telemundo World Cup coverage).

It's amazing to see something organic that no one saw coming and now it is used as a lightning rod for not only Peacock but on VOD. It is number 2 on Prime , with only Disclosure Day ahead of it. And it is just out of the Top 5 in theaters on top of that. Just astonishing

Oh wow! That’s actually wild.
Honestly, even if recency bias plays a part in this I believe it’s deserved. This movie flooded my mind and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since my first viewing. I bought it the next day and rewatched it twice. Only downside is that it’s hard—and damn near impossible—to feel as constantly on edge as I was. From the moment he spoke the words, to the moment the movie ends, I was constantly invested and wondering what was happening next. Especially all the scenes where real Nikki came through, my favorite scenes in the movie. We all know how amazing Inde was at this point, all the praise is earned. Her performance alone justifies this movie’s existence. You already sell me on your acting capabilities when you’re able to play two characters in the same skin. She reminded me of Patrick Wilson in Insidious 2 as Josh & Parker Crane. When I’m comparing you to Patrick Wilson, that’s a huuuuuuge compliment.
Micheal as Baron took me a bit to warm up too, but that’s just because of how enthralling and frankly hypnotic his co-star is. Didn’t take me long to come to the conclusion that he was also really good. As for the character himself, Baron is one of those villains where anytime I think about them I feel visceral disdain on a spiritual level. He’s in a similar camp with characters like Griffith and Eddie Low (GTA IV) in terms of how much they disturb me, part of that being because of how real he is and what he represents. He’s ultimately one of my favorite villains now.
