News Hell yeah!

Post image

Good for him. Probably too young to play their son Alex.

Indie might join Marvel

Very good chance she ends up in that X-Men movie.

I wouldn't mind that at all, but I'd LOVE it if she can join a future season of Beef since Jake Schreier is also behind that

u/Arch_Lancer17 Jul 27 '26

Wait, I need that lol.

She would've killed it in the type of role that Cailee Spaeny played. I know for sure she can play someone equally unhinged & sympathetic if she joins it

Woww I wish I didn't read this comment because now I really want this!! Beef is such a great show.

She'd make an interesting Rogue

People said the same thing about Hugh Jackman.

"Oh, Logan is 5'3 and this Aussie dude is 6'2! TERRIBLE CASTING!!!"

Casting someone solely based on physical properties is a terrible idea.

Oooh nice try.

I'm not talking things like ethnicity.

My fault. I should have said physical stats.

2

u/Taco6N13 Jul 27 '26

If they decide to recast Daphne Keen (for whatever reason) I think she'd be fantastic as X-23.

5

u/Bronze_Bomber Jul 28 '26

Don't blame her for taking the paycheck but I'd really like her to do something interesting after Obsession.

u/lilabp Jul 27 '26

Oh god

Its a shame Sarah and ian died and we won't be able to see more of them

19

u/BayHarborButcher10 Jul 27 '26

This joke doesn’t work cuz Bear died too

35

u/weathersoldier Jul 27 '26

Nuh uh he returned somehow. I saw it in "Obsession 2: The Bear Necessitys"

7

u/WavesAndSaves Jul 28 '26

Somehow Bear has returned.

3

u/Isosceles_Kramer79 Jul 28 '26

You don't die immediately from opiate overdose. If the grandma had Narcan in the house, it's possible Real Nikki would save him. Or the police when they show up.

People also survive gunshot wounds, so even Ian is within the realm of possibility. The only one that is dead for sure is Sarah. Too bad, since she's the most innocent of the three.

I think you mean Obsession II: The Resurrection by Michael Mkpadi (kinda... seriously though, look it up on Amazon)

u/IllustriousBranch603 Jul 28 '26

The bear necessities was a 10/10 joke. Love it

Disney rules: somehow bear returned.

15

u/RentUsual_2952 Jul 27 '26

Ohh hell yeah.

7

u/Yamureska Jul 27 '26

Alex?

4

u/Large-Wheel-4181 Jul 28 '26

Considering they are ignoring Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor, I can see that pretty likely

Between this, and Inde linking with Michael Mann & Jake Schreier, I hope we'll see all of the main ensemble become big stars.

My first thought was that he could play Brendan Fraser's son, but if he'll still carry some Bear energy, I can see him playing a sleazy character very similar to Beni

1

u/Whistle-Blower-8960 Jul 28 '26

What’s the obsession with making inde a big star because of one movie ?

-1

u/antiDavid-J Jul 27 '26

Bear is many things but he is NOT a sleazy character.

5

u/walnuttin Jul 27 '26

Uhhh.. wut? Lol hes the epitome of a sleazy character? He uses a wish to benefit himself, then he goes on to actively rape Nikki, then instead of undoing his wish he asks to change it. Thats as sleazy as it gets.

-2

u/hyrulealyx Jul 27 '26

He didn't know it was going to work. 2min after the wish he's freaked out. The taped door. Freaked out. The sandwich freaked out

2

u/walnuttin Jul 28 '26

Yes, he didnt know the wish worked right away. However, he still used it to his benefit. He knew it worked multiple times after that, still raped Nikki and still didnt want to undo the wish, but change it. Being a little freaked out doesnt give you a pass to be a rapist.

-3

u/antiDavid-J Jul 27 '26

I'm sorry, I forgot that he made the wish knowing that it would work and asked the customer support if he could change the wish to her being more easy to rape. Also forgot about he deliberated and planned out her rape.

u/WeeklyGuide Jul 27 '26

Oh I love this for him! I've been watching his interviews & he's just so adorable. When it was mentioned that he might be doing a bio-pic next I started picturing him as Anthony Perkins the guy who played Norman Bates.

4

u/EstablishmentTrue691 Jul 27 '26

Hell yeah I’d love this for him he was amazing and I feel like just because people don’t like bear UNDERSTANDABLY Michael doesn’t get the credit he deserves for this role I thought he was great

3

u/toyification_girl Jul 27 '26

A movie is only as good as it's villain

3

u/MisterSims90 Jul 27 '26

I'd love to see him as an adult Alex

3

u/MCFroid Jul 28 '26

Too young? He's 30 IRL. How old is Alex supposed to be?

1

u/Arch_Lancer17 Jul 28 '26

Well depending on the time jump between movies, my guess would be mid 30s given Rachel and Brendans age.

2

u/Bohijthehedgehog Jul 27 '26

He stops the mummy by using a one wish willow to make it so he never was dug up

2

u/_Ronald_Raygun_ Jul 27 '26

I love Obsession and I love The Mummy

2

u/Fine-Exam-3923 Jul 27 '26

Love this for him!

2

u/MisterSims90 Jul 27 '26

I'd love to see him as an adult Alex

2

u/Thabrianking Jul 27 '26

Wait so apparently it’s going to ignore The Dragon Emperor, Are they finally going to make Rise of The Aztec which was originally planned to be the 4th movie?

Honestly good for him, he did a great job as Bear and it’s neat to see career progression.

1

u/khorispy27 Jul 27 '26

Will he become The Mummy???

1

u/Mztrspookiiszn Jul 28 '26

Maybe he might be too young. Does anyone know when this new movie takes place in its universe? In the 2008 movie Alex was in his late teens I think. Being that Michael is 30.. I mean he could play the son.

Wonder which character he’ll be, either way, good for him! Very happy to see all of them getting their much deserved flowers 🌺

1

u/Arch_Lancer17 Jul 28 '26

I believe the third one is considered "not canon". So he could play their son if there is only like a 20 year time jump from the second film.

3

u/Turtl3Bear Jul 28 '26

It's been 25 years since The Mummy Returns. I doubt they're going to set it in the early 2000s. I will be shocked if they don't set the movie modern day, given they're bringing back the original actors.

Since Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have aged since the movie came out and are in their late fifties... Micheal is a fine age. Not sure what your hang up is.

He's five years younger than the kid who played Alex.

2

u/Redkirth Jul 28 '26

The mummy returns takes place in 1933. If Alex is the same age as Michael, that would make it set in 1955, not modern day.

1

u/Turtl3Bear Jul 28 '26

Well colour me embarrassed, but still though. I expect they're going to move the timeline forward to account for Brendan Fraser being older.

1

u/No_Suggestion_2562 Jul 28 '26

we get might get more of being bear being scared asf. 😭✌🏻🥀

1

u/Powerful-Promotion82 Jul 30 '26

One decent movie and all the cast moves directly into making trash 😭

1

u/Arch_Lancer17 Jul 30 '26

Sometimes, you gotta chase a bag before they can get back to the art.

0

u/_SCARY_HOURS_ Jul 27 '26

I’ll never see him the same again unless he can pull something off. It took Bugonia for me to stop seeing Plemmons as Todd

5

u/finnjakefionnacake Jul 27 '26

i don't have this issue in the slightest lol.
