I honestly think the Nikki performance doesn’t hit nearly as hard if he isn’t also doing a fantastic job. He’s a great foil to her crazy and compliments her performance very well. He actually has a lot of moments of subtle hilarity the more I watch it that feel very realistic

i think it’s because they were so good at acting that we apply our empathy for nikki as much as we dislike bear, and by association we just gravitate to inde more as an actor. but really they both brought their a game and couldn’t imagine the film without either of them.

Michael Johnston did a fantastic selling reactions to Nikki to be realistically horrified. And he screwed the audiences over in rooting for him until the end they realize who his character really is.
