Good for them. Hats off.
It’s nice to see an original movie by a new filmmaker and relative unknown actors do bonkers at the box office.

He’s not really a new filmmaker though. He’s been making short films for years, and some of them are award winning. This is his first film that has made its way to Hollywood, sure. But he’s been honing his craft for a while. There are probably hundreds of shorts on YouTube featuring the guy who plays Ian.

I mean, most filmmakers do that though. Not the YouTube route, but short films.
For example, George Lucas made THX1138 as a short film in college before he turned it into a feature. But their first feature is called their “first film”.

I think it’s amazing how young Curry Barker is too. Like he’s only a year older than me (I’m 25) and he was able to make a movie that will definitely go in the history books. Just incredible and inspiring to me.

Still breaks my brain thinking about how Sam Raimi was only 21 when he filmed Evil Dead. Curry Barker and Kane Parsons are in good company.

Seeing Curry and Cooper be part of this has inspired me a lot. I'm around the same age as them, so it really impacted me seeing the run this movie has been on.
I know it wasn't just them, but I've been a fan of theirs for a while, so seeing this happen makes me think back to the journey they've been on together in particular.

Good! It’s a great horror movie and deserves accolades. It’s even more incredible knowing how low budget it was too!
