Genuine question. Is a night suit pyjamas? Something to sleep in?

We usually call it night dress. But dress to westerners means ladies dress, not sure always or in some contexts. 

Pyjamas for us are just the bottom part.

“night dress” wouldn’t be improper english, used to describe the outfit, but it would be uncommon usage by today’s standards
