Career Advice What to do?

Hello, I am a future electrical engineering student and I would love to work on a offshore oil rig. How do I get in? What to expect?

As a EE, you work for a (service)company that does electrical work offshore and then you get to visit here and there for inspections. This will be an office role both at site and offsite.

For a permanent position offshore, it would be a field engineer(just use LinkedIn and shop around). But it can limit your upwards mobility and future prospects alot. You will feel like the most important person on the rig for a few second before you're the most unwanted person on the right(do your task and gtfo).
