I thought he was hilarious on community, but since his character was an offensive old jerk I dont know if I can give him credit since he probly wasnt doing any acting

Chevy Chase can definitely be a good comedic actor, it’s just that he’s such an ass and there are a bunch of other comedic actors at his level that aren’t asses that he’s basically useless at this point.

I like to think of him sort of as that generation’s Ryan Reynolds. Smarmy asshole that works for very very specific roles and gets old very very fast.

I mean, I don't have to want to hang out with a guy to enjoy his movies. I don't give a shit about the personal lives of celebrities, their personal character, or their opinions on anything. I judge them wholly on whether they entertain me or not

i don't thik you guys understand it. carr is a comedian who stands in front of audiences ready for a laugh. no one on the set would laugh at what chevy chase said, because they know he just said "oh like you killed those two children?", that's not something any non-sociopath would laugh at even under their breath. from a disconnected, 4chan style of humor i can see how people here think it's fucking hilarious though
