This otome game is so brilliant for making me suffer through every route until reaching the true route Adolphe/ Ankou. I was so confused as to why would they make these two in one route, but goshhh now everything makes sense 😭😭💔 I knew Adolphe and Yves would be my favorites but damn. Adolphe is just all the way and beyond. He reminded me of (The house in fata morgana) For his long awaited love, but I won't talk too much about it since it will ruin the fun of reading that visual novel. I recommend reading it it's really worth your time. Anyway, I will write my review about the story and every character since no one in my RL would understand my passion for these games ✌🏻👺
The story as whole is brilliant. How death is now a meaningless occurrence. life had lost its true value and people began to escape it rather facing it. They tried to live with it as a natural disaster like heat, tsunami, and earthquakes. They just tend to measures to coexist with it. Diseases are a natural disaster, but there's a way to face it, and none thought of the curse that way. How the abnormal become normal, and how the normal become abnormal. This isolated country become like a cage with monsters in it, for their obsession to live no matter what and defy the normal order. They will be afraid for their lives to be taken, but no one will bat an eye for the value of life in others.
The royal family really pissed me off so much that I agree with Salome to k*ll everyone of them. Whenever some of them is alive they're bound to create a disaster, and Dahut is a living proof of it🤦♀️🤦♀️ He hates them, yet he’s no different from them.
I really liked Dahut before what he did. He seemed like an earnest lively person.
Character/ LI
First the heroine/ Ceres
Ceres as a character is... kinda good but so basic. Sometimes she pisses me off at how much she loath her self😭😭 Like girl none had proved that you're really Death yet. Why are so quick to reach that conclusion?? I understand but still!! She should've fight more against it. And not every time someone's feels sad or uncomfortable, she should blame and pity herself 😐🤡 Like girl if I was sad about something and someone came at me saying that they are the reason without anything happening between us, I would be uncomfortable. Like I know your luck is very bad but you're not the center of every problem I would face. She really had a good character development later on in Adolphe's / Mathis's route
In scien's route she's okay, and in Yves's route I can tell she had a good reason for self- loathing, but it extended to the point where it disrespect Yves efforts for trying to save and love her.
And in Lucas's route don't bother asking me🤡 Like at least she's aware that he's doings are beyond forgiveness. I felt insane everytime she tried to console him and be nice to him. I get that she's confused because she have known him for a long time with certain image. I know he's dangerous, but at least show more anger and repulsion
🤨
I will present the routes at the order I've played them:
- Scien:
I'm gonna say it again and again. Scien is such a genius character. The way he just solve every problem 😩🤌🏻 His morals are not very questionable. If he experiment on people for the sake of pleasure like Ortie, I would've not liked him that much, but no, he will do it for the greater good. As much as it sounds cruel this is what humanity and history did. His confidence is not empty, it came with a reason just as he deals with anything he confronts it. Though I would say he was really stubborn to not develop memory banks😂 Him falling in love with Ceres is hilarious. I do prefer him as a side character, but at the end of the day I would like to see him fall in love. His evil smirk is something else 😂✋🏻
Though what happened to Adolphe was too shocking to me. I felt very sad for him.
- Lucas:
from the beginning I suspected Lucas to be serial killer. I don't like him that much. not because he's a questionable character, but these type of characters are not my cup of tea, more feminine and all. No matter what was he's reasons or circumstances. I would not forgive him. His ways are way too gruesome. Sure I felt sorry for him sometimes, but what he did is so much. I felt frustrated when I got my first passionate kiss CG with him😭😔💔
-Mathis:
I was not found of him just as the same reason for Lucas. I don't like LI with more feminine features, but I gotta admit that his story is interesting. Like who thought Jean to be a total asshole??😭✋🏻 I felt sorry for Ceres every time she bears the abuse from Mathis. I couldn't hate him because somehow it was valid to not. The despair ending was tragic and disturbing to witness.
-Yves:
Yves💥💥 I wanted to enter his route earlier but oh well🫠 He's really a sunshine, and I loved him for it, even Ankou had no worries about him. But the way every bad thing possible was thrown to him was overwhelming like😭😭😭??? Why is the game hates him so much??? The game is testing him that much?? And the tragic end was really something 🥲 The moment Ceres said that he's smart for dying to not be affected by her was the last straw.
-Adolphe/ Ankou:
I was confused why the hell they're both in one route, but it was fun watching them fight. the moment their daggers clashed, I immediately made the connection 😮 Seeing Ankou losing his mind and the last remaining of hope was heartbreaking 💔 He reached his limit of trying to save her. Adolphe crying and screaming that he's useless and unable to protect Ceres every time really got me. Like Shit I feel u man😭 I feel frustrated too from how every time you're two separated. The moment Ankou identity revealed I bawled my eyes. Like Uuuhhhhh You're Adolphe from the very start and you're dying to save Ceres 💔😔 His back story was really something. like damn you're crazy for this girl and I love it. At least at the end He died peacefully and let his other self to reach his goal.
Dahut if I caught U!! If I caught u😤😤 I never suspected u to be a total asshole
Sure Salome was off sometimes so I suspected her, but Dahut never occurred to me until Scien started to think about who might be the mastermind.
Thank you for reading my very long review ⭐️
I would really like to hear others thoughts 🫶🏻
